Hey Brent. Is there a way I could draft up like a release type form as far as photos go that you can have people sign as they check in and stuff so that when I do photos and stuff all legal bases are covered?
Does anyone have a pickup truck? I want to bring my cabinet again, need a pickup and some roping/blankets.

Here is the trailer for NWM. It’s quite different from what I originally planned, but with limited resources and time, I think this will have to do. I didn’t even get to insert pictures that Brent gave to me, lol.
Woki, commented how amazing that was. GREAT video, man. We all need to spread this around and make NWM 09 HYPE!!!
Sandstorm…SANDSTORM!!!><!><!><!><!>_<!
Nice video though. It did work with the music very very well but…SaNdStOrM, I know pablo’s hyped.
sandstorm lol
We really need people to start preregistering! If you are planning on coming, it is going to help out a lot more if you pre-register so we can start to advertise and build an attendance list!
Pre-registering will help out with seeding, writing brackets, making day-of registration go smoother, and help build a lot more hype for the tournament! If you planning on coming and can pre-reg it will really help out!
idk if i missed this in the other threads but does anyone know of a really cheap close hotel near the venue? and if u cant find anyone else to commentate the kof matches i wouldn’t mind.
Hey Brent. Any update on the internet situation at NWM?

For Koost, Moe, etc- There are plenty of hotels nearby, as it is a frequently used convention center.
Closest hotels in order are:
-Hotel Murano
-Courtyard by Mariott
-Silver Cloud Inn
-Best Western
-La Quinta Inn
EDIT: Looks like the Marriott and La Quinta hotels might be sold out that weekend.
I can feel the calm before the storm.
Yea actually. They have .43 Megabytes per second upload speed. I’ve heard conflicting reports that this is enough to do streaming, and that it isn’t enough to do streaming.
They checked it using this site. http://www.speedtest.net/
The guy helping me knew nothing about computers though. He was helped over the phone by the tech guy.
You could definitely do that. I have the release form from EVO '08 around here somewhere, and we could use that as a base, or if you know what you are doing, then you could make one. It would be a good idea.
I kinda do, I kinda don’t (as far as releases) Basically, you’re coming here and there will be pictures taken of you (in a nutshell)
But hmm…perhaps we should contact Slasher or djWheat and they should be able to let us know. I’ll twitter them and hopefully that’ll get me a response
Nice job syncing the music to ST Ken’s throw and Balrog’s Ultra haha.
That is enough speed as long as we’re the only ones accessing it. if it’s going to USstream and being distributed from there, we’re golden. LET’S DO THIS. I’m bringing my laptop and streaming software, so what we need are some:
-Headsets for commentating
-AV extension cables
-PC with Video Capture Card (just remembered my old card isn’t compatible with my laptop) =(
So there is some bad news. After talking to Keith and having him check out the site, it turns out that the venue only has .45 megaBITS of upload speed, which is only enough for very, very low resolution and likely very choppy video streaming.
There may be a way we can get better video streaming if anyone has a clearwire account and would be willing to bring their router to the venue beforehand to test a connection, but otherwise streaming likely won’t go well with that connection.
I am going to call again on Tuesday and double check on the internet connection, because like I said, the guy I was working with knew damn near nothing about computers, but I think that may be the correct connection speed for the venue.
It’s $95 plus service charges for setting up the connection, so around $115 to $130 for internet. Unless it is a great connection, I don’t think it will really be worth it.
Not worth it at all. At .43 megabits per second, we might as well scrap streaming.
Already talked to brent about this, but I think the sound stuff is in the bag. How do you guys feel about having a dj there? We have what at least 1 hour break in between the groups of tournaments? Some music would be great to fill the place. Nothings set in stone yet, but I’ll keep the thread updated. Worse comes to worse I could always make an hour long or 2 1/2 hour mixes to fill the gap =D
Go pre-reg Frank haha.
Only if there is some kind of breaker battle.
