Given the fact that brawl and melee have up to 3 7 minute long matches per play leads me to believe that 2hours and 30 minutes wont be long enough to finish the tournaments. This makes me think that brawl and melee might be responsible for us not being able to finish marvel or SF4.
I missed the part that the tournament fee had the notes section for player info when you register.
PM’ing Brent the info.
Brawl and Melee are being run seperate in their own section. Chris is having Smash players bring their own setups and TV’s and they are going to run matches all day in a portion of the room.
It is actually taking Melee OUT of the schedule, so we have more time to run the other games on the main floor.
Smart man, I should never have doubted the almighty Brent’s tournament running ability
is anyone from Portland/OR going to be carpooling up north for this? i was saposed to be going out of town before the 22nd but my flight dates have changed, but only my dates so im left without a ride. would anyone be willing to give me a lift? of course i can offer some gas money or w/e PM me if there is a possibility.
Ditto. No car, will pitch in. Don’t really want to register until I can see if I’m actually going or not
Hey Eman you should probably ditch one of your accounts before the SRK gods get pissed for you using 2… I think its one of the rules here.
Spider jerusalem is now Mor
Like last year I’ll be signing up the day of…think of it as a 5 dollar donation towards nwm. Also since sfiv is @ 4pm, I’ll be taking part of the tour of my hs as part of the reunion, then after sfiv I’ll be heading to some bar for more reunion nonsense…maybe get ppl to crash it for a nwm afterparty?
This is why I asked for the day after NWM off. I hope they approve my day off.
Will there be a free open bar at the reunion? I’d still tip like $5 per drink. But the idea that the booze itself is free might be strong enough of a lure.
What do the registration numbers look like so far?
I highly doubt there’ll be an open bar (we are from tacoma). I’ll have to see if it’s a private event or not first.
My car has room.
More talk over PMs.
Frank, I asked Brent in person once if he would prefer us to sign up in person and give the extra 5 bux, or to pre-reg, and he said BY FAR he would prefer us all to pre-reg…so if you want to donate, you should pre-reg and then just give the five bux later so he can plan better.
Aww shizzle, I got the day off for this! I’m SO thurr.
We have 12 people signed up through the website, but a lot more are confirmed by word of mouth.
46 smash players have said they will attend on the Gameclucks announcement. Those aren’t solid registrations though, but probably a good rough number.
would the best western tacoma dome be the best bet for housing near the venue?
Can’t really tell you. As long as you have a car, any place in Tacoma is only 5 minutes away, but there isn’t really a place in walking distance. Let someone know if you need a ride and I am sure they can help out.
There are still some spots we need to fill for tournament runners. It is hard to say how many people we will get for each game since there aren’t many preregisters, but ideally, I would like 2 people running brackets for each game. This go a long way towards making sure each game finishes on time.
Here’s who we have so far.
Tournament Runners- Two people running brackets at minimum would be best.
Street Fighter 4- ?, ?
Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike - Mackinzie, ?
Super Street Fighter II Turbo: HD Remix - Julian Blake, ?
Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 - ?, ?
Super Smash Bros Melee - Chris (GameClucks)
Guilty Gear: Accent Core Plus - Vince (Sytha), ?
BlazBlue - Veteru, ?
King of Fighter XII- ?, ?
If you are already a tournament runner, find someone who you would be happy working with and who knows how to run a bracket and see if they would be interested in running it with you.
If you would like to run a tournament, please post up and we can get you assigned. It is better if you have experience running a bracket.
Here is the new schedule now that Smash is in another line-up. The extra half hour is at the end of every set in case we run overtime, but it is best to shoot for ending at the scheduled time.

I also wanted to ask one more time before confirming the table rentals. How would people feel about playing on shorter tables? Some of the tables I am planning on renting are 24 inches tall, so a bit shorter than the normal 30 in tables (like they had at EVO). This could be a lot better for people playing on the ground and shouldn’t mess up people sitting in chairs.
We can go with normal 30 inch tall ones too and it won’t be a problem. If we rent tshorter tables and it doesn’t work out they can always go into casual areas too. I think it could be cool, but I want to get everyones input first.

Not to big a difference, but still a small one.
I will hopefully online rgister in the next week or so. Kind of figuring out what games to enter at the moment since I plan on hanging out all day. I am definitly going to this event.
