Table Count
We are going to need to rent tables, so I am looking into a rental place. It is $9-10 a table if we rent from somewhere else, which is 8 dollars cheaper than renting from the venue. We only get 4 eight-foot tables free with the room rental.
Tournament Floor- 7-8 Tables
We will have 12 stations running tournament games at all times on the main floor. If each table can hold 2 TV’s, we will need 6 tables for tournament games. 1 table to hold the projector and 1 possibly for other equipment.
Casuals Floor- 6-7 Tables
I would like to have around 6-7 tables set up for casuals on the middle tier of the room. This will change depending on how many TV’s people loan as well as systems. I was thinking 3 tables in the middle, each holding 1 TV for better viewing and bigger matches, and 2-3 on each side, holding 1-2 on each table as equipment allows. This could make for 10 or so dedicated casual set-ups throughout the tournament.
Check In- 1 Table
Will be in the Lobby. Entry Hallway seems obvious, but lobby is better for getting a hold of people and passing info back and forth, and is also better for watching people going in and out.
Tournament Running Table- 1-2 tables
A place where Tournament runners can place things and go to for brackets, clipboards, and other things. This will go wherever we find it fits best. Maybe right in the center of the main floor.
Total Table Count- 15-18 Tables
Minus 4 Free Tables = 11-14 Table Rentals we will need.
About $110-$140 for tables.
Question? This also brings back up the question, what do people think about the possibility of shorter tables? Some of the tables I was thinking of getting are 2 feet tall (instead of usual 3), so people playing on the ground (most everyone) can see easier. It is not much lower for people sitting in chairs, but could be a lot more comfortable for people sitting on the ground.
Opinions?
