We encourage you to bring the controller you feel most comfortable with, though some of us do have extra TE’s/sticks. The organization has a PS3 on site, but we usually use a 360, in which case we always have at least two TE’s G A M E S:
Super Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Third Strike
** King Of Fighters 13**
Marvel vs. Capcom 2
Super Street Fighter 2: HD Remix
Mortal Kombat 9
Tekken 6
BlazBlue CS
Capcom vs. SNK 2
Super Smash Brother’s Melee / Brawl
Soul Calibur 4
Arcana Heart 3
We will play any game that you bring though, so dont feel shy.
Im still very interested in getting a NEPA scene going.
I was looking around, and it seems that this place: http://www.adventuregamespa.com/ may not be bad to have the sessions at (Though I do not personally know much about them). They have the 360’s, and ps3’s. I have extra 360 sticks I can bring.
There was a LAN center in Scranton called ThatGamingPlace. Their forums are still up somewhere. They played SF3:3S back in the day. If you can get in touch with them, that might be a starting ground.
There’s also a few people in Stroudsburg, PA that play. One of which is a guy named Alex. I don’t know where to get in touch with him, but his gamer tag on Steam was Sinister Device. The dude was AMAZING at Tekken and Soul Calibur.
Also, get in touch with this dude: https://www.facebook.com/nickgaskins
I don’t know if he still plays, but we used to play a lot of SF and MvC2 together. He came up with me to TGP a few times too. Lives in Tobyhanna.
Again, more stuff you can look into. I don’t know if that helps.
Someone messaged me a while ago saying that one of the lan places closed(died off actually, but thats kinda vague) that was in scranton. I will call the place you mentioned tomorrow and see whats up.
the guy you linked is actually mutual friends with two people i know, but I would feel weird just messaging him out of the blue haha. Do you think you could see whats up with him?
if that place is still open we should get some sets in. if you know anyone by you that would want to come, bring em. I would like to have at least 3 people
Alright. Well, I will tell you that TGP’s original location, like two blocks away from Steamtown mall… gone.
But yeah, if you can get on their forums and see where they all are at, then that would be cool.
I’ll talk to Nick and see what he knows / does / lives… He might have moved permanently at this point.
I’ve just moved (last week) to a place called Carbondale (from NJ originally) I was just starting to get into a ssf4/mvc3 scene before i moved. I’m confused that their is no scene here, I’ve never been there but i heard Scranton is a big place.
Yeah, you’re pretty close to Scranton. I pass through Carbondale on my way from my place to my parents’. There has never been a good fighting game scene in the Pocono / NEPA area though. There WAS a time when Soul Calibur 2 WAS FUCKING TREMENDOUS here… but that died… I don’t know what happened… Everybody here plays CoD and WoW.
