I personally think that if Korea had become a unified communist country, it would essentially become a Chinese province sort of like the southern provinces of Fujian and Guaongdang (I’m sure I misspelled that) of China and would probably share China’s Most Favored Nation status thus becoming co-owner’s of America’s/most of the world’s debt. :wonder:

I’m pretty sure there is more to it than what the outlets tell us. I don’t mean to defend North Korea, but I feel that it is very hard doing anything when NATO tries its damnedest to block you, when you are circled by a number of capitalist states, and when your government is woefully incompetent.
We have to remember that the North Koreans are people too, and most of them wish for peaceful reunification. Whoever is involved in this - especially any western countries - must not be so quick to draw the gun.

The citizens are not indoctrinated at birth, that is just bad infromation you got from somewhere obviously. Many people travel to S.Korea from N.Korea all the time, and without conflict to go with it. Kim Jung isn’t as oppressive as people make him out to be. Those 4th of july missles he launched was an accident (which can be proven) and the people that are currently there and those who were there during harsher times starved to death mainly because S. Korea wouldn’t share any of the economic wealth with the rest of the country.
You know what? I can’t tell who is the good guy, or the bad guy anymore. I think Korea should just be wiped out and the people annexed to China or something.

I realize the citizens are mostly innocent for the most part, but I don’t understand how his army doesn’t just overthrow his ass, like south american countries did all the time. The best thing we could do for the citizens is take out Kim and properly educate the citizens. I’m pretty sure even China would be down for that. However, Kim Jong Il is deified, and believed to have magical powers… that is pretty indisputable, even though it all started with his father.
There is no good guy or bad guy in this situation because both of these countries are bitter enemies, South Korea just has the strongest army. Both of them have tried to flex their military muscle many times before and after the Korean War.
Also, why should S. Korea have to share their wealth with a country that mismanages their wealth? Are we(USA) responsible for another countries’ well being because we are wealthy? Hell no.

South Korea isn’t even all that wealthy either. Prosperity hinges on the freedom to trade, and trading power is something north korea lacks. This creates the illusion that socialism is a failure - funny thing, north korea is not socialist - and that these governments can not manage their own resources, which is also something north korea can’t easily procure.
