Except there is no Al Qaeda there. No Taliban. No terror groups in the surrounding area to further provoke the US military after occupation would begin.

the ROK can roll the DPRK easily, in terms of war. Legions of soldiers means jack shit to cruise missiles, fighter bombers, and bombers. It’s like taking out chickens. The ROK won’t do shit simply because they don’t want to deal with the mess.
#2 as for giving up nukes, many would. The only nation that would honestly nuke someone is Pakistan, because of Islam, most that hold them are rational actors and not all nukes are the same.
