Wow, everybody jumping on Hwa now. That’s good though, I wanna see what others come up with so I can potentially steal it.
Jon I am deeply offended you didn’t add me to the boss list. Then again, I wouldn’t wanna be that guy that caused you to lose 100$ haha.
It’s the set. You aren’t TH though are you? =P
haha it’s pretty much just the people I’ve seen play a lot and place consistently, and that I trust not to throw the match just to be a dick. You’re definitely good though. I might add more as time goes on though, we’ll see how quickly these guys develop and if they need any extra motivation.
What are you saying? >:|
Put me on the list, Jon. I’m not there often, so I’d be like a DLC boss that’s already on the disk. I tierwhore now, if that helps.
Hardcore Training Session Sometime after tomorrow is necessary. I mean like tough analyzing of game play and real solutions to problems. I feel like we’re almost in a circle when it comes to KOF. We’ve had a good sample size of tournaments for KOF at WNB and it almost feels like a circle. Javier can beat Jon and Jon can beat just about everyone else but Blake. Blake and Javier have the most consistent gameplay and should probably be winning more but there’s something missing because I am able to win against them. Brent and Demo do very well imo. Matt I haven’t seen play in a while. Armando has all the tools but for some reason looses in the tournament. All of these random things need to be addressed and fixed. I men when Javier went to the coast and waxed everybody that was a level up experience. I wanna see that for everyone in the state in KOF. And the teal of double ‘A’ 9Alex and Angus) shouldn’t be the only barometer for top KOF game play. Holla at me for a session to actually do this. I mean at least 3 setups.
lu, you coming to CW4?
We got a CvS2 cab!
I don’t think I’ll be able to go Robin. Finals start monday. So I probably need to concentrate on that. I hate I’m not gonna be there. It would be good to chill in VA again. You gotta find Esuardo and Derrik adn Eric V.
lol @ DLC boss
so many people are about to be on the boss list that i think we should start playing for spots OR people should start playing with their own money
Lu: i totally feel you on that, ive also noticed what you were talking about but didnt know how to express it. because from what i see it looks like this (just going off the consistent top 5 placers, please dont get offended if your name isnt here)
Jon beats all of us but loses to Javier and Blake
Javier beats Jon but then loses to Lu who then loses to Jon
Blake beats Jon but then loses to DeMo who then loses to Javier, Jon or Lu
Ed is in that strange spot where he CAN beat all of us but still isnt fully playing KoF13 so he has lost to Jon, Javier, Blake, DeMo, and Lu
oh and lets not forget that Darrell beats everyone but then loses to SFxTK
then you have ALL these players who can beat each of us at any given time like Brent, Matt, James, Jimmy (GameWizard), and Armando. so i really think that each player needs to have themselves evaluated to find what their holes are so they can be filled in. we need to know not only everyone’s weaknesses but also their strengths so that way they can play more off of those.
if we take this serious and share with each other, i feel like we can be monsters in this game.
Javier beats everyone then loses to Havier. I fucking hate that guy!
haha no worries man, I didn’t put you on the list just because you’re not a regular. If you were there every week, you’d be on the list. I want the TH guys to have someone they can aim for every week but we can add you as special DLC when you’re there I guess.
Well to be fair I did a lot better against Blake last time I played him, I think I might understand fighting Hwa a bit better now, who was really the big problem for me. st.CD and st.D were like… too much for my team but I’ve figured out some options for fighting back atleast.
I think me and Javier have gone back and forth as well, although he was beating me before I finished my team recently, so we’ll see how it goes in the money match this wednesday.
If you asked me though, here’s what everyone needs to work on:
Javier: Seems fine for the most part but he seems to get shut out by lame play, probably not used to it because of his 3S background so some more experience against that would help.
Lu: Does really well but doesn’t seem to have all the tools of KoF at his disposal. Once he gets HD combos and capitalizes the most off his openings, he’ll be set. Fundamentals are really sound.
Blake: Loses his composure too easy. I don’t really see much wrong with how he plays the game, more with his mentality while he plays.
Demo: Would do good to mix his game up more. He does some things pretty sound but I feel like once that stuff gets figured out, he doesn’t adjust, which is probably why he gets held back.
Armando: Just needs more fighting game experience. His KoF13 knowledge and use of the system is some of the best but he just hasn’t been playing FGs for that long and it shows in some situations.
Brent: Same thing as Lu pretty much.
Ed: Needs to use the system more and take less risks in his gameplay, otherwise he’s obviously really good at KoF.
Matt: Just needs to stick with a team and flesh it out more, I think I’ve seen him switch characters more than anyone else in the state.
Anyway, that’s just how I see it. It’d be good to get others opinions on this as well.
it will be good to get a session and just correct some of the things that are easier to correct like what beats what. We will all be stronger.
You will never defeat me!
Doing KOF and SC at my place tomorrow (Tuesday) starting at 7:30, setup dedicated for each (PS3s)
I really feel the current discussion because I’ve been thinking about the very same things. Lu is right, we need some big gatherings and communication.
I be’s there. I be’s square.
I personally think Lu is the most solid player in terms of overall fundamentals and he should realistically be winning a lot more. This is out of what I’ve seen so far. I don’t have composure problems as often in tournament, but it’s still a sticking point with me. I think my bigger problem is that I’m overly reliant on taking advantage of bad habits of other players, which is one of the reasons I can beat players like Ed and Jon more consistently than say, Javier. I need to supplement that playstyle with more character and game knowledge. I really need to develop my Shen strategically. I’d be down for a gathering soon, though I dunno when would be the best time for me personally.
How good is everyone here at SG right now? I see a lot of KOF talk, but I’ve never played that game so it seems like there’s no place for me in this group.
I’m not sure why’d you would say that. There are plenty of people that Play SG (i’m not one of them) and I’m sure they’ll speak with you about the game. Slayton and thearm play the game and placed well in the last WNB tourney. Maybe private messaging one of them can help you.
The reason you see KOF talk is because we are at one of the many crossroads with that game. We haven’t seriously talked about it since it came out. Everything has still been on a casual level. And KOF is that fucking shit.
Not sure why I’d say what? I asked a question. I’m not the “chatty” type; I’m uncomfortable talking to people even in this setting, so I’m wondering if it’s even worth the discomfort of trying to talk to people. Are you guys good at the game?
