Thanks to those of you who showed up to WNB Episode 14! Even with a low turn up for one game we still managed to keep it entertaining and people had a blast. Thanks again for the donations and new projects are in the works. Random All Tournament was way too much fun and we are definitely running that again whenever we have time and yes we can do that in any game!

Hey everybody, I kept hearing people mention this forum so I finally decided to sign up for something on the internet. I have been coming out to WNB for the last 3 weeks and i have to say what a killer event it is. Plenty of time for casuals, smoothly run tournaments with rotating games and that random all Marvel was hype, definitely need to run that again sometime.
Anyway, I decided yesterday that I wanted to start learning KOF 13 after one of the KOF guys said if we entered this game next week he would enter Marvel (somebody will be 5$ richer next week). I have been reading all the guides on SRK and watching tournament matches, but does anyone have any other good suggestions of guides or videos to watch to help learn the game. As of now I’m running the team of Andy/Billy/Shen in that order and I am still uncertain if that is the most optimal order.
Also I have taken Friday and Saturday night off if anyone is interested in getting some games going. I can host in North Raleigh.

Your team is beastly already, but that the pleasure about this game everyone so damn good. I think the most important thing you can do is learn your comboes! I cant stress that enough! If someone taking 80% and your taking 30% your going to lose! That’s like simple laws of physics or something. Learn to hop too! Like jumping is hugely important because there are 4 different types. It gives you so many different options to move around the screen and its different from any other game. Once you master it though that extra freedom you get is unmatched. Played a few hours of Skullgirls at the Boone gathering tonight - it’s a great game. Currently liking Miss Fortune and Parasoul most - totally not what I expected before launch. What team size is everyone finding strongest? The consensus here was 2, as 1 character means no assists and 3 mean reduced damage.
I thought I would abhor Painwheel, but she is actually my favorite. Go figure. Also like Valentine (status effects) and Parasoul. Unsure which combo I will run but so far been enjoying the game. Definitely different. A good kind of different.

it fucking hurts. A lot.

Running one character seems pretty weak to me. Yeah you stomp characters when you hit them but you get RAPED by assists and mixups.
That being said while everyone is still scrubs at this game 1 char teams may dominate.
Enjoyed the game a lot at the gathering tonight although there is a lot of stuff to get used to for sure.
My favorite character is parasoul assist.
That doesn’t change if you have more than one character. Assists serve no defensive purpose in the situation you’re talking about, because all of them have 2 frames of vulnerable startup, so you still get raped by assists with a team, and you have less life. It’s a choice between increased offensive options with assists and increased offense/defense, and I think it was made intelligently enough to where all 3 team choices are viable depending on the player.
Skullgirls is really fun so far.
Can anyone vouch for thos monitor? im seriously contemplating purchasing it. is it reasonably sized enough to fit on top of an xbox
I would say yes. I have another ASUS monitor (same size but slower refresh speed) and from what I can see looking on my desk it would sit on an old style 360 without covering any of the vent holes.
I’ve had this monitor for about a year now I like it a lot and it doesn’t lag. The only negative thing I would say about it is speakers are somewhat quiet.
I think that’s the monitor that was at the ranbats. All I can tell you is that I like the picture. Yeah it can sit on top of a console, but not in any kind of bag.

I haven’t been able to replicate this. I think there is some misinformation sitting around from a pre-launch build. A few moves in the Skullgirls SRK Wiki have incorrect properties listed. I’ve been able to use invincible moves as assists, and have had them come out in the middle of a super and hit the opponent.
Will I have 12 of these monitors and I will have 20 by June. These are the monitors that the fighting game community is using. I talk to a lot of TO’s and these are the exact same monitors that they all use too. These were the 2009 EVO monitors and were the monitors used at FR and many other large tourneys around the nation. I wouldn’t recommend them to you if they were not good
