Posted this in the tierless heroes thread on facebook. You guys think it’s a good idea? What else could we do to get these guys motivated and interested in the game?
once we get good enough. you could do what Phil, alex and I did with coliseum. Just start banning characters that we can play and we can sweeten the pot add some of our own funds to that.
If you guys wanna throw in too, we could get the bonus pretty big.
This thing kinda pays for itself, because if more people enter, and we get more money from the pot, then it makes it easier to pay when we lose. (ok… we’re never going to lose without some handicaps but you need that carrot on a stick to get people motivated lol)
I like the character ban idea. I’ll see how this turns out without the ban and then up the ante a bit once people get into it more.

EDIT: on a side note, the vVv website has leaked the info that MLG summer championships will indeed be in good old Raleigh, NC. KoF, SCV, MK will all be there with over 10K pots. i dont know about the rest of you but im in there!!! if you didnt know yet Romance is now vVv so he will likely be in attendance.
i will be contacting our brother CJ later today to see if hes coming. he and Duc took 4th and 5th respectively this past weekend. if he is coming, you best believe im gonna roll out that NC hospitality.

Actually sat down to practice KoF today too, I won’t be dropping so much hopefully now. Thinking of reordering my team, if I end up deciding to use Iori more than Takuma, so it’d be Iori / Duo / Kensou.
Team point characters. I just don’t like many of the anchor type characters in this game. And honestly I don’t think it really matters all that much. Just play who you’re good with, and the ones you can do more with more meter, stick em in the back.
Claw or Flame? I assume flame since he is going on point. Not putting claw last would be pretty rofl (you should learn claw and put him last imo)

but yeah MLG KoF is on, i know alot of you guys live in the area but i will still be getting a room at or near the convention center for the weekend and it will be Kof central if i can get CJ in too.
im also restructuring my team. the matches ive played recently with Roski, Jimmy, Jeff, Phil, Lu, Blake, Matt and a few others have shown me that i have a pocket characters that i need to put more work into.
Everyone says I should play Claw Iori for no apparent reason, why is that?
And angus yeah I know, that’s why I said it’s team point character lol. If it sucks I’ll try something else.
Arm: The guy that won Socal regionals played point claw iori for some reason, with Duo Lon second. I don’t think team order matters as much as people say it does. Most characters can do 70-80% with HD and if you give them a bunch of meter, maybe more. If you run an anchor character on point then you just win the first round and build meter, then blow them up like they’re an anchor round 2 with the meter you built yourself. Or if you run a point character last, just spend the meter on your second character so by the time they kill your second guy, they built you the meters back up anyway. Plus I’m pretty sure even Kensou can get close to 100% with 4-5 meters.
Any info on MLG Raleigh? Muaythai and I were definitely interested in hitting that up.
Just throwing this out here. Have all of next weekend off and I do wanna play some stuff. I’m definitely ordering Wrestlemania on Sunday so I was thinking about running an all day gaming session on Sunday with Wrestlemania taking over my bigger screen TV from 7 to 11 and games still getting played on the smaller screen. If there’s enough interest I may even think about throwing a mini-tournament during the day. Also, is there anything going on Saturday this coming weekend, because if there isn’t then I’d be open to hosting something that day as well.
Well as you said your team is all point characters atm so I suggested you pick up one of the best anchors in the game (esp since you already play Flame so the adjustment wouldn’t be too difficult). So you could run Duo/Kensou/Claw and have a pretty well rounded team.
I think Claw is as good as he is because he doesn’t rely on either bar to do damage but with either he does a shit load. I was watching Bala use him and basically he would kill a character with just a raw HD 70% combo and then the next round he would use all of his stock on combos into DMs and Ex DMs killing them in 2 combos and a couple stray hits.
I think claw is so good because not only is he so fast but he can combo into his DM without using drive at all and he can use HD to do absurd damage without burning stock. This gives him more flexibility and efficiency than most other point characters.
Every character can kill someone burning 4 meters + HD. The characters with high damage are the ones that break 850 with 1-2 meters + HD (Takuma,Karate,Claw,Hwa)
