@Jon: You busy at all tomorrow? Just wanted to play some AE tomorrow. Also, if there is anyone else in the Raleigh area whose free tomorrow and wants to play some AE hit me up.
@Hoc4Life: You free at all this weekend? Wanna get some KOF in when I can with you.
Please, just stop man. Why does no one ever learn their lesson? It’s a completely pointless argument that always gets settled with the line “just play what you like”.
God Blake we’ve been over this a thousand times, some people never learn. Why do you stop trying to convince people what game is good and just accept people play what they wanna play grumble grumble etc
Is the Wolves Den still open? If not what about the library? Seen people playing in the library but never bothered before to play there, but I can give it a go.
Wow, lots of KOF love in here. Maybe you guys can help me. I’ve been considering getting the game since it came out. Marvel 3 was my first serious fighting game. I feel in love with 3rd strike when the Online version came out, but haven’t played it in a while. I’ve tried to get in to SF4 a few times, but the more I understand about it, the more boring it gets. I can’t even bring myself to watch it in streams anymore. I feel like a fraction of marvel has the same amount of complexity and deepness as the entire SF4 experience. It’s just incredibly boring…to me.
What makes KOF XIII awesome? Does team composition matter, or is it basically just make sure that your whole team isn’t weak to a specific thing and then just pick people you’re good at and you’ll be fine? I hope that’s not all there is. Marvel team building is obviously incredibly more deep than that. It’s not fair to compare them like that, but I do anyway haha. Thanks in advance.
Marvel team building is A LOT more important than KoF team building since each character actively plays a role in what the other one will be doing, for the most part. KoF’s you can look at it like this:
Point characters are characters that build good meter and don’t necessarily need meter to do good damage.
Mid Characters are somewhat wild card. They will probably have meter to work with but also not necessarily be a huge meter whore since there’s a character behind them. I think this is the most free slot to use whoever you want.
Anchors are characters that get better with meter. Examples would be claw iori, shen, and takuma. All of them are decent but when given meter, gain new options or can do ridiculous damage. Characters like Kensou or Duo Lon or Athena don’t make good anchors because they’re better served in other slots where they can play to their strengths.
Some characters can fit into all the slots. Kyo, Andy, and a few others are good examples of this. They build meter and have good meterless damage but also get options opened up and can convert to huge damage pretty easily when they have the meter for it.
Damnit… I want to run Marvel, depending on the amount of entrants, with AE we may be able to try, but i highly doubt it this wednesday, We got from 8pm-1am that’s 5 hours dont see how we can’t, but im going to have to try and persuade James (The actual tournament organizer, im just a henchman lol) to do so. And bring as many people from greensboro as you can, tha’ll be hypeeeeeeeeeee
