Yea, Demo I’m still interested. Put me down if still available.

Danny Sabouri from my gatherings wants in too. Any room for him?

Was thinking more the game mechanics and how it was so hard to force a hard defensive choice. CS2 improved things, this improved it more from what I heard (though probably not in a way that benefits who I used)

Any particular reason why they simply didn’t make a Guilty Gears game for the nextgen consoles? It’s something I’ve seen developers do before and wondering if Arc Systems actually said why.

The only reasoning I can see is because they wanted to lower the barrier of entry for new players. Sort of even the playing field but I don’t think that necessarily required a whole new setting. Street Fighter 4 appealed to new players because of it’s newly designed game engine and to older players because of brand loyalty.

The most interesting thing (in my opinion) of US vs JP is how the systems we play on affect a game’s longevity. Because the majority of the US play on consoles, the latest and greatest tend to get the most of our attention (along with whatever has good netcode). With JP being an arcade-centric community, a lot of older games survive in popularity a long time due to having well maintained machines and just being plain visible.

How many of you would still play older games on a more regular basis if whenever you went to play or practice there it was, ready to go? Anyways, I’m just going off on a tangent now.

but what about me? sniffle I wanna play too!

OJ: sent you a message on FB as well. youre in.

Jon: you know I dont like doing more than 3 but thats TOTALLY up to you guys in the back seat. if you all agree to it, sure thing.

Also just like TH_Mad! said, dont be late tonight motherfuckers! He even gave you extra time. If I can get there on time from bum-fucked-egypt, you guys can get there on time from within city limits.

There was a legal mess between ASW and Sega/Sammy over the rights to Guilty Gear. ASW has the rights to GG now, but it was iffy 5 years ago when they started on BB. Though there was also the idea of making a more accessible game than what GG evolved into; its one of the best fighting games ever made but it is very complicated to learn to play.

Anyone can scoop me up for WNB tonight? >_>

Yo Jon you mind if I swing by tomorrow?

Also anyone in Fayetteville playing anything today? Going into withdrawl symptoms. I mostly play KOF and SCV but I pretty much play anything and everything.

Me and Lu were talking about that yesterday and to be honest i did not like the whole cancle out of my move and give my self frame advantage thing in GG even though i know that SF IV has FADC the way it worked in GG was kind of out of control. On top of that i did not like just gaurd system either because it was a way to modify advantage from defensive position. I like the effort made to add and extra mechanic to give the player options on offense and defence, but with the mulitiple revisons i would like to have one set of frame data to learn and not multiple lvs and each one is a different frame advantage or disadvantage if roman cancled out or just gaurd. It was “in my opinon” brainoverload with small return in fun factor. By the way how is it that the GG community(what is left of it in here) had the ability to build up such a fear of talking about GG. I get that feeling when i see people talk about it in a constructive manner. Be afraid to so nothing as long as it is in the spirit reseach and development.

We talked about GG all the time. The problem with talking about it on SRK is that most here were only interested to the point of “It looks cool, but I’m too scared of the amount of effort required,” which is coincidentally the same thing I see with KOF nowadays. I answered every question that was asked of me, even giving everybody a blueprint on how to beat my character that was entirely based on the actions of people who beat me in tournaments.

In short, when the answer to most questions was “practice,” people were as turned off then as they are now in the same situation. If there are any specific things or situations that I missed, please bring them to my attention, and I’ll gladly address them.

I’ll be at WNB tonight, gonna bring my monitor (finally got it) and console, so we can have an extra setup tonight. See you guys there.

He’s not a good character. Lots of unsafe shit. unlike kof xi or 2k3 where he was somewhat of a god. You can jump at him. c.C is slower than it used to be. Just an observation though. I haven’t been able to test it. I do need to play more. I still don’t have a feel for offense in this game yet and I’m relying on previous knowledge to get by.

Oh yeah… New BB? I need to check that out. Damn I really have been disconnected from the community for too long.

While I don’t think Duolon is particularly strong, I do think he has more than enough tools to be competitive in this game. I can’t call him weak based on what I’ve seen from top players using him.

It also didn’t help that the answer to many of the remaining questions was “Block. No, seriously, block. Don’t try to force your way out because it will get you killed.”

Blocking is not a popular solution for most fighting game players these days.

if duolon still had his crossup bs he would be a lot better

Angus! Check your PMs bro I need to get at you.
