I want to thank everyone that came out last night for the weekly Wednesday Night Brawls Tournament. Everyone had a lot of fun and as tournament operators we are growing and becoming more familiar with what people expect, want, and would like to have in our events. The Tierless Heroes Team is working hard to make this events even much more enjoyable for you guys…we are here for the love of the games and to meet new players as well as let those local unknown monsters to showcase what they got. I like to thank Jon Slayton, OJ, CornerTrap, and RAF Raf for putting a good word for us and thus making this events bigger and more hype for everyone. We took in consideration everything that you guys have said and as you can see we made changes so that everyone has a good time the whole time you attend WNB.

so, I guess people are choosing to ignore the Final Round inquiries? some people have already been in contact but nothing concrete has been hammered out. im not about bullshitting guys, I just bought brand new tires and im gonna be travelling this season. this weekend I will probably be hitting EZ but im going to be in the area already so I wont be able to do a carpool but heres what its looking like for me

Jan 28th-EZ Fayetteville NC or ATL Revival (carpool dependent)
Feb 4th-Carolina Game Summit Goldsboro NC
Feb 11th-ReSe Charlotte NC
Feb 18th-(BOTH CARPOOL DEPENDENT) Brawl at the Beach Myrtle Beach SC or Winter Brawl Philly PA

then im taking a break the next few weeks unless its something local up until

Mar 2nd-Final Round Atlanta GA

It’s only a 1 day thing and there is going to be good money there. I really think you guys can take it. ATL is free in KOF from what I have been told.

thats what im saying…if Jon and Darrell want to go I will do this. like I said I literally JUST got new tires, oil change, fluids, wipers…EVERYTHING. im taking travel serious this year. we need to establish ourselves NOW.

RE: Champs

GG’s, it was a lot of fun like last time. Just be more mindful of how you make the brackets next time. You pretty much had Me, Jon, OJ and Seth all on one side of the bracket eliminating each other by the second round. The best players on the other side of the bracket were Will (who lost his first match) and Xaiah who pretty much got a free ride to winners finals (all love and respect to Xaiah though). There were also players with high seeds that quite honestly weren’t good enough to deserve them. I’m cool with losing to Jon and Will since they deserved those wins against me, I just find it weird for them to be my second match. I still had a lot of fun, I’m just asking that you be more mindful of that next time.

@Demo I will be in ATL this weekend. If mr.cheese aka hoc isnt going, and u need a 3rd, i will play. Brian, you weren’t still wanting to enter KoF were you?

I haven’t touched the game since it came out so I would just be dead weight for you guys. I would def play with you guys for sure. I can still play basics and with you two giving me pointers I can take some scrubs down

So Demo that would be you me and West for KOF if Darrell or Jon can’t make it. Also I think some Charlotte guys need a ride so you could have some people helping with gas. Let me know if that’s what you want to do and I will find you some poolers.

Great fucking idea West!!

Hell I’ll even jump on kof this Friday to get familiar with the game if we do this!! Just in case you were worried I am not complete garbage, I still have great fundamental/basics and can zone so I won’t be all that much dead weight

From what I’m played with you in KOF Brian, you have solid fundamentals. You just need more experience with the game and to understand the differences in the KOF system from SF. You also need at least one character on your team that you can do a HD combo comeback with.

Not that it matters much this Sat because Georgia is super free in KOF 13, but whatevers…

Yeah, I lost both of my matches and still ended up put near the end of the loser’s bracket instead of matched up against people that lost their first match. Also, it’s “Stane,” not “Stan.” lol. I’m thinking about changing my handle to “Stane Station 1” just to fuck with you guys haha. “Corner-trap and Stane Station 1, Station 3.”

Yeah I really want to get out to Final Round and ended up missing out last year, but all I hear are crickets on the subject. Tried both Facebook and SRK with not much luck. Are people seriously trying to work something together here or is it just “Best of luck getting there” and that’s it?

Forgot about CGS since I’ve never managed to make it out there before, but for Feb 18th if you need someone to help with gas hit me up. I’ve never been to neither so I’m for whichever one, but if all else fails I wanted to see about getting out to SC somehow.

If I go next week you guys can come along. Swinging by State isn’t a problem so I’ll post up if I do go. Any of you guys play SFIV?

I am IN FOR FINAL ROUND. If anyone needs carpool partners / a roommate, I AM AVAILABLE AND AM GOING TO GO.

My tournament schedule is pretty much the same as Demo’s, so hopefully we can all just ride together to these various things. If you need me to meet you somewhere more convenient just let me know Demo.

WHO ALL IS GETTING A ROOM FOR FINAL ROUND?

As far as ATL Revival goes, these are my thoughts. I have no interest in a team tournament. For one, I have to rely on my teammates, who probably won’t hold up their end on Marvel. KoF would be free if me and Darrell both went but I don’t think ATL really has much of a scene for KoF. I also don’t like the team format because I need a match to figure out other players in Marvel. The one match format is WAY too random in that game because everyone has their own gimmicks and playstyles. If I get hit by something I’ve never seen before, I DO NOT want that to be my last match.

So with that said, if I do head out this weekend, it’ll be to EZ.

Just a reminder again…

GAMES AT MY PLACE TOMORROW (FRIDAY). 6:30 START TIME AS USUAL!

Yeah, thats our fault, we talked to OJ after the tournament to give us some pointers on that. We used a bracket program where we made sure not to make inner city player play each other, and we did it based on skill level. BUUUUUTT, we didnt realize that it would still put all of you on one side of the bracket. We’ll settle that conflict to make sure that won’t happen in the future IE next tournament. However, for some reason i did have to play Basic Complex and Mad, who are my teamates (that are good). I apologize for that cuz i realize that that is what happened so my bad. And as im posting this i just realized why that happened and trust me that won’t happen again.

So you’re going to Final Round. That’s what three in total. Okay, at least we have numbers now.

As far as a particular game having a “scene” it won’t grow if people are unwilling to invest in it. People want to wait to see if a game gets popular before they decide to play it, but if everyone has that kind of mentality then its never gonna get played. If you’re playing it and allowing others to see the potential of the game then others will jump in and before you know it the “scene” has grown substantially.

And with teams can’t you just go second or third? If you see your teammate go through something you’ll be able to figure out what you’d need to do in order to win. Plus I thought the whole “being on the edge” thing would take nicely to some people, which was one of the reasons I enjoyed watching single elimination tournaments from Japan. If you fail a test you can’t just retake it, so you have to study up and cover as many angles as you can before test day.

Its a bit more complicated than that. People say that they will get into a game if its popular but in reality they’re really not that interested in the first place.

I guess I can agree with that since even though SCV looks like it may be interesting and I do say “If SCV is popular I’ll probably play it,” ultimately I don’t care much for that game. Not on a serious aspect anyway. But the only reason I’ve even decided to touch SFIV is because other people are playing it. I’d rather play 3S, but no one in NC plays it so I go to SFIV instead even though I hate the game.

I may not be at EZ this time so entrants for AH will likely be pretty low, but I don’t want people to think that we’re not playing anymore. Hate that I’ll miss that and some good KOF.

I know Aaron is busy with school and I got caught up with work stuff so with that being said i’m pretty sure it won’t even have enough entrants to run. Not much we can do about it. I really wanted to go for KoF but i’m going to hit up EZ fridays on the 3rd of February.

I’m new to the area (Hendersonville,NC) Looking for people in my area to see if we can get some sets in.

Not sure where this “play SC5 just for fun” thought process comes from but I swear I get it from like 75% of the competitive players I talk to. I guess it’s just not a game a lot of people have taken seriously in the past. Me, I play stuff if it interests me. SC5 interests me so if it turns out to hold up at a decent level, it’ll have my full support. Hopefully me hosting regularly will get the excitement levels up for the game.

And sure, you can go second and third. Say I team with Will and OJ. We fight some unknown players first. Will and OJ get bodied, I have time to see the gimicks and not die to that guy. Now there’s 2 left I have to fight and I have no idea how they play and what they do. I don’t have any matches to condition them, meanwhile they’ve been watching me play so they know what to expect. Either way you slice it, I don’t like it.

Video games aren’t tests. Tests are things you study for. If anything the “studying” in a video game match is the first match where you figure the other guy out. You can’t really study for something psychological like knowing people’s playstyles and habits, etc etc. That’s all specific to the individual.
