Good games last night to those that played. Was really fun to come out and some of the clutch was so hype. Really chilled and well ran tournament. “No player from North Carolina can beat team Raf.” Those words were tested last night, haha. We need to get a KOF XIII exhibition match or something out there. Maybe even a quick team game with 1 on 1 instead of 3 on 3. There were people who seemed interested in KOF last night, but I don’t want anyone to feel afraid of the game since its new to a lot of people. Its not only a fun game to play but also to watch. Even with a decent amount of entrants I believe you can get just about as many spectators. After watching and learning some of the things in the game those spectators would then become players and so the growth continues. Plus RDU is a good place for KOF players, especially considering the amount of knowledge and skill in the area. I know the Makoto player from Champps plays and I assume the guy who brought KOF XIII does as well, so that’s two more to the list of people I know that already play KOF. Just passing my personal ideas, but I think KOF will do well if pushed.
But yeah really nice tourny and you’ll see me again there. Gonna practice up on some stuff and like the terminator “I’ll be back.”
Other than the Friday session Mr. Slayton’s holding, you doing anything Saturday? Was gonna see about coming over and perhaps playing some KOF then.
Alright, so the AE tournament at Champs was pretty legit. We had about 26 or so people in the bracket. We didn’t end up starting til about 9 and ended roughly around 12:15 ish. This could have been ran a little faster/started earlier but since it was one game it played out pretty well and there didn’t seem to be a whole lot of pressure or confusion getting matches ran. There were also unused setups as we drew closer to the finals. Team tourney was mad hype. Raf should be allowed alcohol at whatever tournament he plays in.

Y’all are legit and I had a lot of fun. I can see why y’all are skeptical about running multiple games cause y’all still have some organization issues, but those will simply be solved over time. Just make sure to start on time, don’t have idle setups and place matches on standby to lessen the amount of down time. The Fayetteville players said they’re willing to show back up next week so assuming my meeting finishes on time I’ll be there.

Also I thought Civil War was starting in early April not late April, I might actually be able to make it cause I get out of basic training in early April. Another thing i think we could have ran it better, there were empty setups along the way that could have been filled quicker, and there were empty setups as we got closer to finals, not saying that that is obvious, but if we were running marvel as well, that would have been our ass so we need to step our organization game up. Aside from that EVERYTHING else was hype (to me at least). Shout outs to Will for being a basterd and winning a game he doesn’t play, JK good stuff, and Azn_Boy best rose i’ve seen personally. Ummmm eff Team RAF. Ummmm TH all day. Ummm thankyou greensboro for showing up and bringing people, Ummm team tournament was a blast, next time when we have time we should do round robin by players AND teams but i know we had time constraints. THANKs everyone next Week is Marvel and we are working on other things to bring to the table for the tournaments as well. Ill post vids when i get them etc etc. Another thing as much as people love to play casuals during tournaments, we have a strong belief in fairness for the most part and it is allowed in tournaments almost anywhere, but alot of the staff just feel that it is fair to wait till finals are over. The people playing also want to get in on some casuals too so they just wanted me to enforce that rule. To be honest on the casuals thing, just to provide my opinion, I don’t think the people playing finals really care if anyone is playing casuals or not, they’re usually more caught up in the matches going down. Me personally, I like to get in as much play time as possible, and watching SF4 isn’t on my top list of entertaining things to watch. It’s you guys venue so I’ll listen to whatever you say but I just feel it’s a little silly. People are allowed to talk / eat, take a shit / whatever during the earlier parts of the tournament, no one is expecting them to watch the matches, so I dunno how it’d be disrespectful not to watch the finals personally.
But like I said it’s yalls venue. Just me personally, I don’t care if anyone watches my finals. In fact next week when I’m in Marvel finals, if you guys wanna play AE while I beat up whoever I’m up against, by all means, go ahead, I don’t mind lol
Yeah, that rule honestly didn’t make much sense. The logic used to justify that rule makes even less sense. I feel y’all had good intentions when you did it, but it’s definitely not necessary. Aside from that just work on your organization, y’all have a good thing going and it was a lot of fun.
Haha, yeah i never seen that rule enforced in any other tournament which is why i posted that, but then again, “i am a henchman”, honestly i don’t care, i really don’t especially if a game like ShaqFu finals HAVE to be watched lol. James is the main person to talk to about that, you’ll probably only see me post here from TH to give out information and report ish back to him to make the tournament more player friendly so ill talk to him about that. I meant to say this earlier but the wrist band thing was applied because we had people who didnt pay venue play casuals and get discount food when its only for the people who payed venue. Last night, someone ran out on there bill and Me, James and Jamal (Really tall blk Guy) had to pay it so its kind of annoying for that to happen so we have to enforce that if you dont pay u don’t play. Oh and i’ll probably be the guy you are bodying Jon lol, which means everyone from raleigh is watching that. Yeah and the 15 year old (Will aka LowTierPlayer) is really good. His only competition on the Regular is Me, James, Crimson Thunder(he played viper at the tourney) and Tyrell; In AE that is. But marvel, apparently just me and tyrell in all of Raleigh is his only competition according to him so yeah. I’ll try to bring him with me to other tournys once i start to get things settled here in raleigh.
its not about me not wanting to host it will , its just the fact that shit adds up , 5 dollars for venue and 2 dollars for each game ( 3 games ) add that up on a four week period thats 28 dollars if your just entering in one tournament 84 dollars if your entering all 3 and this is not including the monthly. unless you winning like charile sheen that’s alot of monies your throwing away plus alot of people are not entering the tournaments and not wanting too because they just want to do casuals. 5 dollars there and 2 dollars here is alot of money especailly when you have a shittty job working at gamestop like i do when you only get paid 60 dollars every pay check , i remeber entering monthlys spending my whole check for the tournaments just to lose it all and not having spending money for the next two weeks AND THAT’S ONLY WAS THE MONTHLY TOURANMENTS!! , also take in consideration for the people who drive from different cities that come to the weeklies " Dat gas money " and not even sure that there gonna win that money back in the tournaments and they also want to go to the monthly at the end of the month ( money dawg ) , there spending alots of monies when i know they have some bills to play also. i fill like friday’s should be for casual’s and practice for the upcoming tournaments not a skrmish of weekly mini tournaments contantly throwing money in them and by the time the monthly is here nobody cant enter because thorougout the whole month the spend all of their money on the weekies
