Hopefully I can come out to sessions more instead of just show up to EZ and get [S]4th[/S] 3rd. I don’t really have anything more to learn in training mode with my main so I just need to figure out neutral game options. I’m pretty sure my combos and my oki setups are good enough.
You’ve never placed higher than me when we’ve both entered a tournament often getting lower than me so i’m going to make you work for that win next tournament. You can’t light the fire in me and back out so prepare to get 6th/7th because after getting 4th at the latest EZ i’m not going to break my 5th place streak ever again! Joking

Arcana is fun but there is just so much other stuff to play. Arcana 3 isn’t a game that’s going to grow much, anywhere really I don’t imagine. With all the other options around that will all have huge scenes and offer really good gameplay, I just can’t bring myself to put time into it. Why get good when the end goal is beating some local NC guys? Well, not to put the game down. I just wish the Arcana players were more focused on other more relevant stuff. People play what they like though.
I guess my goal, so this post doesn’t seem so down on Arcana, is to see NC more as a whole and less as divided factions playing different stuff. Seems impossible to find a game everyone likes though.

I’ve been down to play AH3 since I first touched it and I will definitely be playing MB. The issue with me now is KOF XIII and Tekken. Until I’ve improved in those two enough I haven’t really bothered with anything else much. I’ve got some bread and butter combos down, but I haven’t really taken the time to study the engine and fundamentals so its majority buttoning mashing from me. Same for MB. I have a character for each game and my execution practice in KOF XIII will help me in both games as well. Could never pull off Heart’s combo where during the combo she would time freeze you, hit you some more, then once the time freeze stopped continue the combo, but after practicing in KOF I pulled it off with no problems. Well, up to the time freeze part. Gotta work on the rest. But like I said after I’ve improved well enough in KOF XIII and Tekken 6 you can most definitely count me in.
After the time freezing super, you don’t have to do much else. Just something like j.E, dash, charge 2E, 421C… And you got yourself a time reset. There’s other stuff you can do (that are even easier / harder), but that’s just the basic idea.

The combo I did only needed two bars. One to dash teleport and another to time freeze. You start the combo off about the same as the vid, but instead of speeding up Heart you qcf>B, dash teleport, continue the combo, time freeze, then whatever after that. Haven’t worried about Heart’s speed up combos until I’m able to properly play the game. Might be able to continue combo in speed up boost after time freeze, but its something I’ll have to test out some other time. Doubt it since if that’s the case you can pretty much TOD someone. But anything that makes the game similar to Hakuto and I’m sold.
The go to time heart combo is …2C xx 236B 6HC 5A jA, delay jC, land 5A6C sjAB dj jBCE this does crazy damage only 1 meter doesn’t need EFC or a time super, and actually sets up decent oki. Don’t bother comboing after a time freeze it prorates really bad, it just lets you setup perfect positioning for sweet oki that is it’s primary purpose. Normally the way I would look at it is either do 1) anEFC combo that ends in time super or 2) do the above combo, or 3) connect an air to air hit and do the j.A,delay,j.B slight delay j.C loop.
I think it might be better to look at it the other way… Like, Does a race car driver learn how to use a stick shift after he is able to handle his vehicle properly? That would be a trick question, because you can’t handle the vehicle properly unless you know how to shift gears.
But personally, I would disregard trying to ‘properly’ play a game. Because once you think you’re playing it properly, that’s when you stop learning. As long as you’re learning new stuff and applying it in matches, that’s all that matters. And I would definitely try those time combos that Aaron posted. They’re really damaging and a lot more efficient on meter.
Also, Afaik, you can’t TOD anyone with time Arcana (at least not with guaranteed damage)… If you want 100% combos…
