Well if I’m not mistaking the stuttering guy mentioned something about the experiment referring to Nero’s arm being a success. Nero also mentioned that ever since he got the arm that his life changed after that and that he began to hear a voice echoing “more power.” The Knights in DMC4 all contain a piece of Nelo Angelo inside them. The arm could just have been a larger piece of Nelo Angelo and the experiment being to see if it would have any affect on a living creature, this case supposedly a human.
Nero was also taken in by Credo and Kryie as an orphan and even fought along with Credo as he grew up, but it wasn’t until Kryie noticed Nero’s arm that she thought he did posses demonic powers. She would of noticed that before the events of DMC4 took place. Then the question is whether or not Nero’s hair was always white or did it change after the “experiment.” Nero’s DT also resembles a mixture of Vergil’s DT and Nelo Angelo. Along with the fact that not only did Yamato reassemble after Nero’s DT was awaken, but that Nero’s DT also uses sword attacks that resemble Yamato in hand.
DMC4 gives a ton of “hints” about Nero, but never elaborates on them.
EDIT: Nero makes mention of becoming a demon after obtaining his arm and asks Dante for advice about living as a demon if I’m correct. As in he was once human, received the arm, and is then turned into a demon.
Speak for yourself. I don’t represent NC, just myself.
Ono anothera thoughta…
Who in Raleigh is open for more gatherings? Haven’t heard much about SF4, MvC3, or 3S in the area considering those were thought to be top played fighting games. It was just less than a week ago someone complained about not being able to find any nearby gatherings and here I am opening my place up with no response. Not trying to sound like a dick, but here I am bringing up the talk about games going on and nobody says a word.
The issue right now is that NC doesn’t have a “main” game anymore. Nothing is drawing significantly larger numbers at the moment, and things have now scattered to be about even. The State tournament had roughly equal entrants for BB, AH, SF4 and Marvel. For the new-ish Capcom games, the older players are burnt out on them for various reasons or can’t travel/it isn’t worth traveling. Raleigh is quite lacking in the Capcom department from what I can tell, and this is partly due to new versions of both games coming soon of course.
It’ll still be SF4 and Marvel though. I’ll likely play them, but not as much as the other new games. I have no intention of dropping AH3 either.
Count me in. I should be there on or around 7 if the horde fails to stop me.
Yeah, keep it going with AH3. I’m gonna up my level in it soon, especially before the next edition of MB comes out. My thing is that NC is really spread out, so the most the state players can do is try to help each other level up in their area. When the people from whichever city go out to other city tournaments and/or have people come from outside to their tournaments try to level up with them as much as they can as well.
Also like you mentioned about not dropping AH3, I think a lot of people have their one game and leave it at that. Jon, Jos, and Rob off the top of my head are about the only ones I can really think of in the area that have at least two games they play. Most of the players I see have that one game and stick to it ignoring anything else that could distract them from it. Not that I think its a bad thing, its just that I believe they would rather spend their time wisely on something they prefer most.
But Raleigh has a good amount of players, its like you said having that “main” game amongst them. Bad enough that the players in the state are too spread out, but so are the games in each city. SF4 is about the most basic that I would vote towards everybody picking up as a secondary, plus its the most entered tournament. I want to see KOFXIII grow so I’ll be playing it regardless, but if it gets big then my vote would go towards KOF.
I’d like to go to more gatherings but my availability is just really suspect so I don’t even like telling people I want to try to make it most of the time, because excepting Friday nights (which I currently use to go to EZ) I don’t have a clear cut day of the week that would be good for sessions on the regular.
If someone hosted daytime stuff on Saturdays though I would probably be able to make that once or twice a month. I’d be especially interested in something like that because I’m always hungry for more games after EZ sessions.
If it helps to know, I mainly just play AE right now, but I’ll be picking Marvel back up soon and wanna learn KoF 13 when that drops.
There is a gathering Saturdays during the day at NC State’s Wolves Den if I am not mistaken. They had a tournament down there not too long ago. Check with Captain Joe or ShinsoBEAM for more details on the Saturday gathering. Ling has his Tekken gathering on Saturdays, but its at night after 7. If people wanted to bring another setup besides Tekken I’m sure he doesn’t mind, but if you’re looking for daytime stuff then Wolves Den is the best option.
Sofa_King: Jon’s gatherings don’t even get people to come out in Raleigh, we appear to “have” people in Raleigh but they are ghost or don’t show up. So don’t feel bad when people don’t reply to your question of hosting… since Jon can’t even get people to show up. Brent’s right though, we’re too scattered in the games we play lol.
We havn’t had an official gathering in a while and AH one died out for a bit when I got completely swamped with school. I’ll ask about one next weekend or something.
Just came back from EZ just watchin CC with Nathan on stream. Laggy ass stream was terrible, but its better now. Also watching Peaceful Jay get freed up by Sonic Generation’s last boss TIME EATER!!!.lol
Guess we will be watchin CC finals at ez some time tomorrow.
On the 22nd right? Or did you guys get a advanced copy? I’ll talk with the EZ guys about it tomorrow. I think its a great Idea, so I’ll try to generate more hype. SNKP deserves our support. I’ll PM you the details.
So last night I went in as an SRK Spy to this group of guys in Raleigh, a lot of them were from that champs / edward mckay tournament. They apparently do gatherings weekly on saturdays at this guys house out near wakefield (reallllly nice area). Anyway, WOW… they have a lot of players. I didn’t lose once the 4-5 hours I was out there, Seth (Duo) and Isaiah also play out there apparently. They have a lot of potential though and with the dwindling numbers in Raleigh, I think I’m gonna try to convert them. They’re pretty nice / welcoming so if anyone is ever interested, I might see if you can tag along.
Really, it’s amazing a completely separate entity of fighting game community can crop up like that out of no where. There was a good 10-15 people there and all of them played. And here I am on the supposed fighting game hub trying to host gatherings and only ever get like 6 people lol
I’m not able to ge an advanced copy so it’d definitely have to be the 22nd unless of course that part would be taken care of. I really don’t mind either way is good for me. It’s still technically a “launch party” if the game came out that specific day. Once I get the “we in there” then i’m gonna see what I can do about getting people new and old. Even if it’s only like 8 people that’s more than enough anyway, if Nameda is avaliable it would be great if he could stream as well and we can get that KOF hype out there. I wish I could have seen what the scene was like during 2002um/11 because 12 was clearly a beta test in my opinion and a very poor one so i’m pretty hype for 13.
Elite Zone in Fayetteville. Not sure where you live but if your in the RDU area I wouldn’t mind driving you if you pay like 5-10 bucks for gas depending n how many people I got in the car.
