Besides I’ll probably never even be there. Two jobs sucks man. That and I get no practice time in. But if you do come, you gotta stay till like 3. That’s when I show up.

That’s what I love about that stuff. Even looking at matches I had yesterday to today i’m like “why the hell did I do that?”. You improve over time looking at your mistakes and the lulz factor looking back 6 months from now is pretty huge. Happened to me with day 1 arcana stuff vs the stuff waaaaaaaay later.

So I’m planning on hosting a gathering this weekend. With that said:

Maybe from the absolute tip of s.L, but that’s not necessarily the range you should be aiming for anyway. I don’t need to space to the absolute tip of the move, I just need to get the move out there. Spacing at max range is relevant when you’re trying to attack where your opponent’s attacks don’t reach, but Dante doesn’t care if his opponent can reach him as long as he gets his out first, cuz he’s got a sword.

Nonsense sir, there is no such thing as a bad spot when you use Bold Move. Between Air Play and Hammer, nobody can mess with Dante in the air. Bold Move after blocked attacks is almost always profitable. And even air dashing from far away is OK, as long as you can make them block something like j.H. That gets you frame advantage to get back in, even if they push block, since you can land and dash to negate the push. You can also just land and Stinger, then Bold Move again to put your opponent under pressure.

It’s not that push blocking necessarily affects him more, his normals just have a really exaggerated pushback, s.M especially. s.M on regular block pushes Dante back to nearly the max range of s.L.

Dante always needed an assist to be at his most effective, even in Vanilla. Having an assist let you set up mix ups with him from full screen. Without an assist, he would have to do something riskier or burn meter. Bulldog Dante was never the best way to play him, because the mix ups were fairly predictable and relied too much on conditioning your opponent to sit still (which is a lot easier in X Factor). Again, a lot of this is because you played him anchor and you were never forced to actually learn how to construct an offense with the character, because you had XF3 available or meter for DT shenanigans.

Honestly dude, you could probably run your same team and do the same thing you’ve been doing with Dante and it would work just as well. I don’t see any changes that prevent you from doing it, because a lot of your Dante rushdown was either predicated on having meter to cancel stuff like Hysteric into Devil Trigger or simply on having XF3 available so you could just airdash at people over and over. You’re really making mountains out of molehills with this normal pushback stuff.

Yea friday is the one day not good for me I work till 11 at night, if not i would have already attended one of those event all though just found out about them 2 weeks ago, i was hoping there was maybe a get together on wednesday, thursday, or sunday. eventually i plan on requesting some fridays off to attend the tourneys but right now that isnt possiable since we are short handed.

We stay up all morning playing fighting games man.

I was small jumping so that he could not punish with CD gaurd counter. It is too slow when i am that low to the ground and I am safe when I hit the ground.

If your hopping over and over you can just get jabbed yes I know you can bait and punish that too, but what I’m trying to say is try to do something instead of just blocking in the corner waiting for the pressure to end because it isn’t going to end.

I don’t know his other 2 characters but Kula 2HP, and 5LP, sometimes her 214P are what I normally used for anti airs. DP seems like it would be nice but it never seems to work consistantly enough. I got some cool stuff with Elizabeth EX dash= too good.

Hammer doesn’t have shit for invincibility now, was testing it vs taskmaster up arrows and I couldn’t even get it to go through one arrow half the time, much less all of them consistently. The invincibility appears to be in some weird middle area between when you start it and before it comes out. Maybe I just don’t have the feel for it yet but that move just doesn’t seem there, other than doing double overheads.

As far as my old playstyle, it just doesn’t work anymore. I’d have to change the range I play at entirely and relearn the character, but I might do that anyway since Jam session is so valuable. I tend to fight from max range of my normals but you have to be a bit closer now it seems, and that’s really what I liked about the character, having huge normals that were easy to maintain pressure and combo off of. I would learn doom for plasma beam but I just don’t like Doom all that much. I know he’s good and all but just not my sort of character. Atleast Dorm’s assist got a buff, apparently it’s a soft knockdown no matter when you do it in the combo. Used to be affected by hitstun scaling, which is strange since they took it off of Jam session and then gave it to dark hole.

K’ / Takuma / ??? for now. Trying to figure out my third in KOF13. Got this hawt HD combos down for those two, shit’s fun.

Yes I play Clark. But im nowhere near P-Soul’s level yet. But I do have some nasty tricks up my sleeve. I will do all I can to help and teach whoever wants to learn. Saisyu taught me…so im paying it forward.

By Doom’s assist, you mean Plasma Beam? Nah, it’s not a soft knockdown, I’ve had it teched out of using it to extend Vergil combos. Jam Session wasn’t a soft knockdown either, it’s always been affected by HSD. I know that from using it to extend Wesker combos in Vanilla.

As far as Hammer, it lost about 6 frames of invincibility. Invincible from frames 11-20. Annoying, but you can do it a lot faster now, sooooo, you can compensate. Bold Move = profit. It’s what allows Dante’s offense to flow.

Well, we play all night into the morning at EZ, so you can always come when you get off. We will be there. Also I host on Thursday’s at my place normally. Not lately cz I have been working late the last 2 weeks. Also EZ is 24 hours and Nathan is normally there, so if you wanna play just post and some of us can meet you there if we aren’t busy.:wink:

I’m just starting to look into those guard cancels and when to use them, guess 3+D will be my first real experimentation with the mechanic. lol. Was looking more into that sweep attack… Had no idea that Kyo can’t even cancel into special if the second sweep hits. :V

Dorm, not Doom. Their names look really similar. Also I know what Bold Move is for lol. It’s not very scary with the push out because the cross up isn’t so much of a threat

11-20 is a reaaaaally awkward area to utilize for invincibility. It doesn’t seem like something you can rely on.
