CFG Weekly this Monday! Looks like we’re FINALLY getting some more local interest!

How did that one sentence about Anniversary Edition lead to all that? :stuck_out_tongue:

Anyways, Good games tonight. Got in a good variety of games…
Demo, hope you got a better grasp of Arcana, at least matchup specific stuff if anything.
Wish we played some Tekken matches too though. :frowning:

So did Dead or Alive 4, Mario Kart DS, Melee, Brawl…

Seriously???

No, but seriously. Anniversary Edition has it’s fair share of problems. From what I hear (the real 3S players in this state can correct me if I’m wrong cause I’m not one) the AE version is a good bit faster, making hit confirms a bit harder and something else about something. Also, I agree with what Shiki said about DoA4 and Mario Kart and Smash Brothers with items on (Good shit Keits, you fucking moron) and the glitches he posted. And way more people played arcade 3S than you think. I remember two arcades just in GREENVILLE, NC that had A3, MvC2 and 3S cabinets. This was back in like '99. 3S is old as shit, and people want the arcade version.

Also, emulation doesn’t matter. You can run mario from the original NES on a fucking supercomputer built by NASA and it won’t be as good as on an original NES. It’s about compatibility issues with hardware/software. The Wii is the only thing other than an NES that runs it properly, and that’s not even emulation. It actually has the NES/SNES/Genesis/N64 hardware built into it so it can run those games perfect. But whether it drops a few frames here or there, slows down here, has shitty sound for this move, whatever. Not as good as the original, the way it was meant to be played. Hopefully 3SOE will be much closer than the PS2 version was.

I like your tech.

I requested off for this, hope schedule works out right.

Also, good fun at jons, ggs everyone!

I’ma try to make Gamefrog as well. Also, wanna play against Law too next time. xD

Okay, here’s a couple of rather large differences. ST Claw’s walldive motion is fucked up. It’s not charge down, then up and kick, it’s some wierd twisted motion like charge down, neutral, kick, then up. Here’s another one. O. Sagat doesn’t exist in the game. Neither does O. Ken. You know what that means? That means it’s not ST. (and before you post saying that they are and telling me that selecting Sagat in super mode while holding select or whatever it is gets him, no, you’re wrong, it doesn’t. Fireball speed and recovery is different).

As far as playing 3S goes, you need to do some goddamn research. First, Arcade 3S is noticably slower than console, as anyone who has played both seriously can tell you. Second, a shitload of players experienced 3S for the first time on an arcade cab; don’t be one of these new players who thinks nobody was around before he was. Finally, you’re in one of the best 3S states in the country. Don’t fucking tell me ANYTHING about how to play a game that I placed top 8 in majors in when you aren’t nearly good enough to notice the difference. One of the best players on the east coast in that game is running the tournaments that you can’t be bothered to attend right next to you; you need to learn what the fuck you’re talking about before writing novels that are so false they look like FOX News publications.

A Henderson player?! I always thought they never existed. Was a dark time in my life while there. My best advice is try to find players that are actually worth playing with, which may unfortunately mean making some drives out here and there. Durham is about the closest I can think of. There’s a Gamefrog tournament on the 13th. You should try to come out and connect with a few people there.

If that’s the case then I might actually give the game a try again considering 3SO is coming out soon. I’ve played 3S console before, but only against the CPU. Said screw it and didn’t bother with fighting games again somewhat until SFIV came out. If the state is that good in the game I may have to jump on it again then.

I hope you don’t really think this.

Man, I used to go to crabtree valley mall every day after high school and played 3S for 2 hours before going home. This is back when their arcade was worth a damn and obviously before it got shut down. There used to be a Korean and black guy that I played against all the time. I think the Korean guys family owns a restaurant in Cary. Anyone know who in talking about? Another crew of Asians used to go a lot too, one of the best ones was Paul. Haven’t seen those guys in years. Good damn times.

GGs at my place, thanks for everyone that came out, had a lot of fun. Thanks for the matches in Tekken, Rob and Daniel.

Gamefrog ranbat sounds fun. Looking forward to it.

You should come to Durham for the Gamefrog ranbat on August 13!!! I would love too see you out.

By the way this an old discussion, the fact is if it is not the CPS3 ROM CART or CPS II (green color with gouki’s face on the top of the A board) version with mother board they all have translation issues.

If 3s online edition is a straight rip from that ROM version"A" with no change to frames or boxes I will gladly play. But when people are yelling out at evo that chun-li’s crouching jab is 2 frames and do not understand the severity behind chun getting caught guarding low it makes you wounder the information validity of top players. Bad information will hurt your learning process greatly.

I would feel sad if in 2011 we couldn’t get a truly arcade perfect edition of 3S. They said in the trailers that it is but you never know, could just be marketing hype or something. They’ve been working on the game a decent amount of time now so I can only hope.

Also @Henderson, Durham/Raleigh isn’t TOOO far away. Luckily your a bit in the middle so yea you’d have to travel but it wouldn’t be as bad as people who are at the very bottom of the state having to travel upwards.

Gamefrog? Ranbats? TOAST?!..no but i will be there 5min away lol

Ranbat at Gamefrog sounds Legit, if anyone is willing to give me a ride, i have gas money, and/or i can just be at your house at a certain time and ride with you

?

I’m confused? Hope I don’t think that emulation isn’t 100%? Or that the Wii has the old hardware built into it in the form of computer chips? Cause both are true. All Virtual Console systems at launch had the hardware. The newer ones they added like the TurboGrafix and Neo-Geo don’t have the hardware though, I believe those actually are emulated.

Yeah, Dark times for me indeed lol. Sadly I dont drive. But I’m like Def not afraid to give up gas money.

Junk F’n sucks. Preciate the responses…I was expecting along the lines of “Henderson?! Where the fuck is Henderson?Get outta here trollin with your made up places.” lol

Taylor, shut it up. Now. You obviously can’t tell whether or not when somebody is being serious or trolling. These people know what the fuck they’re talking about and you can’t win in some random argument about some [Insert Old Game] being popular/or not because just about everybody in this thread has experience in [Insert Old Game] so there’s no point in this gibberish you’re speaking right now.

unnnnnhghh I need to be right on the internet so bad etc etc

Hey, I want to go to this.
