Tekken was on 360?

dam viper got ANOTHER buff on her U2? god that shit was already overpowered and everyone was obviously using it. good thing her U2 buff made up for her completely reasonable nerfs. didnt see no U2 vipers at evo but i think that’s because their all just scrubs, good shit capcom.

I just read that Fuudo interview…that shit is funny…

I don’t think Viper needed a nerf personally. The big reason Viper moved up in the tiers was because the chars that gave her the most trouble got raped by the nerfbat in AE. The chars more powerful then her will get nerfed down, so she won’t need help vs them. I can see minor adjustments here and there, as well as buffing underutilized moves, but she didn’t need a change in her power level.

Fix that, you bring Viper back down.

Oftentimes, matchups and how good/bad matchups for a char get nerfed/buffed affect tierlist changes as much as buff/nerfs to the character itself. That’s a big reason why Fei Long moved up in the tiers.

As for Honda, he needed his Super U2 startup back, as well as some sort of buff to EX ochio. Those moves very rarely get used, so they deserve buffing.

I wish I knew what they want vega to do in this game…

VFDC is reporting that Final Showdown is being released next year on PSN/XBLA Summer 12.

Hopefully it’s out by next EVO.

Couldn’t a tournament be played on one system as a default and then another as an option. So if two people agree they can play on the option system. If one person disagree’s then it’s played on the default?

I bolded the parts I had questions about. So you’ve got both systems so people can choose, but if you happen to get a 360 player and a PS3 player together then it’s a coin flip? Now SOMEBODY is going to play on a 2nd system which goes back to what Frank the Tank said about not playing two systems at the same tournament. Or what if a 360 pad/PS3 pad player sees that they can choose their system and show up and don’t have a converter and lose a coin flip? The page for the tournament is a bit ambiguous about this. It just mentions it being a usual Dual System tourney and that the people help run it smoothly. That can mean a lot of things. Also, PS3 Marvel and 360 Marvel have some differences.

I mean, I wouldn’t equate this to walking out in the middle of 5 o’clock traffic, but maybe walking out in the middle of a backroad in a subdivision maybe. Yeah, you technically haven’t been hit by a car yet, and maybe you don’t consider it very likely, but it’s still dangerous to just walk out there without looking. This hasn’t pissed anyone off yet, but it will eventually. Somebody is going to get mad they drove 3-5 hours to flip-flop between PS3/360 timings for Marvel. I know if I went there and played on 360 for half the tournament then lost a coin flip to a PS3 player (or vice versa, play on PS3 then lose to 360 player) I’d be pissed at the waste of gas.

That’s just my two cents. Take it as you would anyone else’s.

EDIT:
OJ’s idea fixes my entire problem with this dual system tournament. The freedom of choice with a fallback plan for people who DON’T want to flip flop and can practice on just one system.

If that was the case I would say default SSF4 and MVC3 to 360 and Tekken 6 needs to be on PS3.

Personally I prefer running tournaments on the PS3 because it doesn’t have a problem with assigning controllers and signing into profiles. Despite how smooth we ran the last tournament there was still a lot of time wasted with players having to sign in and out of profiles and turning the system on and off to reassign controllers. The only reason I chose to run AE and MvC3 on the 360 was because that’s what everyone seemed to want on the forums. Then we ran into the problem with having 7 360 setups but not enough controllers. Funny thing was we probably had players with more PS3 controllers despite there being only 4 PS3 setups.

EDIT:

Wasn’t 3SO supposed to be released today on PSN then tomorrow on 360? Well I don’t see it on either systems online store. I actually looked on various sites and all of them have inconsistent release dates. Some say PSN 23rd and 360 24th, while others have that the other way around. Some say both come out on the same day while other say dates that have already passed like the 22nd. Seriously when is this game supposed to be released?

Speaking of which Corner-Trap how many goats did you sacrifice to finish up everything at what was it a little after 9, when you only started at 2. Like that was the smoothest run tourney I have ever been to.

Also people might want to think about moving Marvel to only being a $5 tourney, game is drying up because of ultimate coming out so soon.

I’m Down!! Sounds great!! I was tired of AE anyway, lol

Xbox updates at the Japanese midnight. They don’t observe daylight savings so that’s either 4 or 5 am depending on what part of the year it is. PSN is typically around 4pm but can be as late as like 9pm. So they should have 3S this afternoon and 360 gets it by like 5am tomorrow.

$10 entry isn’t why Marvel is dying, nor is Ultimate. Marvel is dying cause its just not very good, and pretty flawed at the moment. November may fix that, who knows. But the game is fun at least. Well, as fun as it can be in NC for those playing. Power to them for sticking with it.

c

There was pretty significant drop in entrants when ultimate was announced.

But tournament entry fees I feel are more about restricting entry when a tourney gets very large and only letting people X serious about a game play in the tourney, when MvC3 only got what 13 entrants at EZ, I mean come on drop that number to $5 and I bet 20+ people will play. Which sure might mean a bit less money for #1-3 but if your seriously playing fighting games for cash instead of love of the games I seriously suggest you stop playing right now and learn a MoBA or an FPS instead.

VF5FS comin to PSN!! Balrog gets ver 2012 Buffs!!! 3SO comin out this afternoon!!! GGXXAC on the front page of SRK!!! “IS THIS REAL LIFE???” lol

This is what I asked myself when I saw more people in T6 and 3S at EZ then marvel.

Yeah I was shocked too but I guess the Hype just died down. MVC3 and AE are fun but that’s about it…just fun. I had more fun playin VS/3S/and GGXXAC at EZ on Saturday. I hardly touched any other games.lol I’m too old school for my own good,jk

Not to nitpick jimmy but your time conversion sucks lol. Japanese midnight atm is 11 am est. P.S i heart you

What is the difference between the 360 version and the PS3 version? I personally can’t tell and I’ve played on both systems. My next gen fighting games I own are on 360 and when I go to gatherings those games are usually played on PS3. I don’t see any difference in timing within any of those games no matter the system. Heck I own a copy of Tekken for both systems. I would bring my PS3 copy to play in the Wolves Den and my 360 copy to play at home. I know the problems I was having with Tekken the few times not too long ago had nothing to do with the system, it was all horrible execution on my part. Frame was the same, but if there was actual difference in frame it wasn’t enough to be that big of a deal.

If you’re gonna do two systems just do it to accommodate those who may have a PS3/360 stick/controller unless there are “Bayonetta” differences between the two. Otherwise just make it PS3 since that’s the majority people play and tournaments are ran on. Plus if someone is entering Tekken and SF4 it can help reduce issues of having to bring in multiple sticks/controllers if you don’t have a dual modded stick or adapter.

And on the note of 3SO I’m pretty sure its gonna be hype for a couple of months like everyone else has already said and die back out again. Even though its “arcade perfect” this time and that was the reason I heard a lot of people say was why they don’t play it now. Hopefully for those two months we can get some real exciting explosive matches going.

yeah they buff bison…for stun.

oh I feel I gonna die before get in, no troll this time, asking akuma why i die before get in.
