That has never happened at our tournament. There was a time at Animazement where they did hold a Tekken 6 tournament on 360, and when I brought my copy of Tekken for PS3, EVERYONE wanted to play only on the PS3. With 50 entrants, 4 360’s, and 1 PS3. Most, if not, ALL matches were played on PS3. The general public is very attuned to one system for specific fighters. I do like the default idea. At the same time, I have no problems with either system. I know what happens on each system and I try to adapt accordingly.

I’ll make it official. Going to be hosting a session on Wednesday.
Food will be made and drinks will be consumed.
Right now I have 2 TVs and 1 PS3 with AE, MvC3, MK, and I will have 3SO. I also have a spot for an additional TV and/or system if anyone would be so inclined to bring one. My major focus would be MvC3 and 3SO but any other game is more than welcome. I know MLG is coming to town so I’d be more than grateful to play some MK as well.[SIZE=7] PM me if you’re interested in dropping by. Exactly, that is how it is run. It is all up to the players. When I call you up for a match you and your opponent decide what to play on. If you can’t decide (it’s never happened in 6 months) then I will decide for you. I usually run everything on PS3 but I have 360’s as backups cause some people do prefer to play on those.
It’s sort of the same thing as people that prefer to play on a certain monitor or tv. You can’t please everyone and your always going to have people that just generally hate but this has been working very well. Like I said in previous posts that is there is a hardware difference that makes the games different then I wouldn’t do them any more.
The reason I started this is because a lot of people were asking about 360’s and when they play a lot of times people match up on one system than not so it has been working out real well. Now that I am growing I may have to rethink it but for now we are going with it unless there is a huge reason not too.

Just for clarification, I mainly run on PS3 but I do have some 360’s there for people that play on a pad. that is how this all started. MvC3 I try and run all on 360 cause of the slow down issue. MK is always PS3 and AE is on both cause people play both systems and use pads. Like I said it will probably be a problem the larger I get but for now I am using both, but I usually only have like 2 360’s running in my 6 system setup for AE.
Update for the tourney!!
I have moved the room to a larger room next door. I had to cause I can’t fit 70+ people in that little ass room. The old room holds 50 but that is not enough for this tourney!
I will have signs up in the lobby and employees will point in the right direction. It is like 100ft away from the other one so you can park and walk there no problem.

Nah I never did the math, I just remember reading it a long time ago and Microsoft always updates at like 4am or 5am EST. I heard the change was because the time they base it off of doesn’t change when daylight savings does. Someone said Japanese midnight so I just went with it.
Tactiks, I like that more. But when you say “I’ll decide” do you mean before the tournament ever begins like OJ means? Or do you mean you just walk up and pick one yourself in the moment? Cause the “before the tournament” option seems better. You should kinda get a census going and pick some default systems in the near future.
I live in Durham, about 3 minutes from Southpointe Mall.
The default system is PS3. 360 is only there cause I needed some extra systems and all I could get were 360’s. I am buying new equipment monthly so eventually it will be a ps3 only event but while I am asking for systems I am using both. Like I said I only have a couple 360’s there that we play on to begin with. I try to use them for casuals and other games like BB. As far as deciding goes I was saying I would decide if the players couldn’t make up their minds, lol. I should have enough systems this go around so I will be running MvC3 on one system and others on another. Well see how many I get and I will figure it out then.
Also, the guy I have streaming this tourney has a 360 I think so I will have to see how that works out too. the next streams will be done by myself so I will control what system is on it.
Haven’t had a session in 2 weeks and won’t be able to have them regularly anymore. I’ll post up when I can so we can do it once in a while, but it looks like just Jon (samurai) and Eric (doom) for weekly rdu sessions right now.

So the default is PS3… so if the players can’t make up their minds and decide… you’ll decide for them. Which is PS3? I’m asking the question pretty much as blatantly and to the point as I can. I can’t ask it and be any more clear with what I’m asking.

All joking aside, Like I said as blatantly as I can… PS3 is the default system! Usually what happens is I tell you what station you are on and if there is a problem you guys let me know you want the other system and I will put you there instead. Man you make this so complicated!

Easy enough. Your post had mixed opinions. If the default was PS3 then “if people can’t decide, it’ll be default” vs. “if people can’t decide, I’ll decide.” There’s nothing to decide. PS3 is default, the decision is made. So I wanted a clarification on that because it didn’t make sense. Now I have one and thank you.
And yes, earthquake fun times. Also, hurricane is ruining my weekend plans.
