I am not a fan of any game that is like that. No hate though.
KOF has gone up and down in quality more then any other series.
The only time it’s gone 2 iterations without going up/down was going from 96 to 98.
I’m talking about specifically KOF 12 --> KOF 13 Arcade --> KOF 13 Version 1.1 --> KOF 13 Console
Each revision has been a significant increase in quality.
Same for the Maximum Impact series.
That’s why I wanted to see a MI3. Because if that would be as big an improvement over MIRA as MIRA was over MI2 and MI2 over MI1…

I didn’t count the revisions or the UM games- I went mainline to mainline. Usually the games get better within an arc KOF94-95, 96-98, and 03-XI. Nests era was the exception, but they had bankruptcy and Eolith as excuses.
I wouldn’t mind an MI3 either, but I’d rather see a new Fatal Fury. or SamSho. Knowing my luck, they’ll bring back Last Blade (very overrated series)

I actually thought about after I posted that. I guess its because KOF is a faster paced game. In addition with short hops, getting anti-aired doesn’t come as often as it would in a game like SF4.
SF4 greatly encourages ground footsies. That is great I have no problem with that at all. Its just that I’ve never played a game that hates you for being in the air as much as SF4. But this is only because my background comes from playing Guilty Gear, Melty Blood, Arcana, and Tatsunoko vs Capcom. I love me some airdash fighters.
Heck in the 3S you can atleast parry.
I am not dogging SF4 btw. I have much respect for the game.
nah sf4 is ass man. footsies aren’t that encouraged with things like focus attack and other stuff, but some of it is still there, just not much. i play tekken now anyway.

It was a good tournament. The only way it could’ve been better if everybody who has 360’s would’ve brought their 360 sticks… Had mad fun playing 3S and VS today with the crew. I still say I’m going to give whoever I beat a ‘stayfree’ tampon…
