Haha, I thought someone would think the wrong thing but then I thought someone wouldn’t so I left it. Edited it to avoid any confusion.

@R.Mika Lover, yea I got you.
As for new players,or new to the scene, I know how it feels to be new.I also know how it feels to a have a community and wanna keep it strong.Sadly as much as we all love games, life does (for some) go on. People move away, start families, attend collages out of state and attempt to improve themselves. Some cats just fall off. More importantly I think that new players when entering the scene should use tact and respect when addressing the OGs of the FGC,on and offline. OG’s should also give new guys a fighting chance. I’m roughly new to NC,but I have been in the global FGC tournament scene for many many years. When I moved here I tried to introduce myself to the forum in a respectful friendly manner. It’s like going over somebody’s house for the first time, just show a little respect. It goes a loooong way. IMO. Anyway, gotta be at EZ in less than 4 hours to help set up. Shit, been up watching the God’s Garden Stream all night…“Damn it” (In my best Wesker voice). See yall at EZ and good luck everyone!!!

Overall how good is NC in Tekken? Due to console/money restraints, its the only game I can enter in this tournament. Honestly, I just wanna know how bad I’ll get bodied since my good friend (who I seem to talk about a lot) is great and it and at least two guys (7thFonon and I believe his name is Demo) are on par with him. I’ve only been using Alisa for a week, so I shouldn’t be that much of a threat. sigh

I’m also going to be getting a copy of BlazBlue today, but there’s no tourney for that, so does that mean it doesn’t have much of a scene in NC, or that the tournament turnout just isn’t good enough to bother having it?

Sorry for all the questions and stuff, just trying to get into the scene and all, sorry if I’m being bothersome.

Blazblue is a game that has gotten better with each iteration. The NC community has no place for something like that.

Now, take SSF4AE. This game is so badly made that Ono APOLOGIZED TO THE COMMUNITY AT EVO for it, and is GIVING US A NEW GAME FOR FREE TO REPLACE IT. That game? That’s the one with the entrants.

If any of you bored every vid is up from July 23rd to August 13th and check back here for the EZ tournament videos.

About BB. I lived in Greensboro (I’m in Atlanta now). TitaniumBeast lives in Durham, Mad Tea Party lives in Raleigh, Frank the Tank lives in Greenville, and there are a couple of groups of BB players in Charlotte.

EZ had 8 entrants last time.

Now TB, MTP, Frank, and I were usually close enough to show up to EZ, that we made up half of the roster. There were a couple of other people that I didn’t know who enter and the last 2 came from South Carolina. Fayetville is a little far for the charlotte dudes. If we had more tournaments at Lucky’s in Greensboro like we use to they would show up and we would of have had anywhere from 12-16 entrants. =/

To sum it up, we’re pretty spreadout. But if more people pick it up that won’t be a problem. I’ll be mad though because I just left NC. -__-

Dang, that really sucks  looks I’ll be pretty much alone in Fayetteville

At least BB online isn’t ass. Netcode wise anyways.

Yeah online was the best way for me to get as good as I got. I found some good people and friended them. I find that BB is one of the few games where if you have good internet, being the only one in your area is not a problem. Especially since I lived in Greensboro away from any competition for a year and was still able to do well in tournaments.

Good to know, thanks everyone

I actually just picked up the game after playing it with a crew in Jersey during my last leave. If you ever wanna set up some practice, or just play me for some friendlies, just hit me up. I’m gonna try to be at EZ every Friday with my whole setup like I was last night.

Cool, I’ll keep that in mind.

I’m gonna hop in the shower, and then I’m on my way to EZ.

Good luck to the Greensboro and Charlotte guys going out to EZ today. I’ll see you all at Charlotte’s RESE tournament next week. Right now I’m stuck at freshman check-in at the college. : /

I woke up a little under the weather today. So to everyone riding with me I do apologize for being slightly behind. This is also notice to the EZ staff that we will be slightly behind.

See everyone soon.

damn i just woke up, overslept something fierce. I’m still going to try and get over there but ill probably be too late

Fucking fantastic. Sorry, but it looks like I get to be the irresponsible new guy now since my ride flaked out on me.

Don’t worry about it. Shit happens, people understand. People only get really irate when people ignore whats right in front of them or act entitled to more than they’ve earned. If you’re looking to learn Blazblue though I’m not too far from the Fayetteville area and we can probably meet at elite zone or something soon.

You’re right, and this is me agreeing with you.

BB- It really has improved over time. When they patch it up again, I’ll get back into it. Only reason I don’t right now is Arcana’s more fun to derp around in.

AE- the only reason it gets played is because of who made it.

Actually, I think Street Fighter has a lot of fans (myself included) because of it’s style of gameplay. There are a lot of people (including me) who are turned of with super-jumps, air-dashing, wave-dashing, etc. and prefer a more ground-based fighter like Street Fighter. AE just happens to be latest iteration of the franchise which will naturally garner the most attention.

Popularity and hype tend to generate more popularity and hype, but to be honest, I don’t think people really care who makes the game as long as they enjoy the game and their friends play it. That said, I have to agree that BlazBlue is a fine game. Just because it’s not suited to my taste doesn’t mean I can’t play it and recognize the fine work Arc has done with it.
