Best tournament I’ve been to as far as entrants and amount of time it lasted. I’m sure if the minor games had more setups they would have been done fast too. But even with what was there it went fairly quickly.
@Jon…bullshit! Random my ass! You know you programmed it! Lol. Magneto, Storm, Sentinel just had me like…really? I’m gonna get in the lab and learn one bread and butter at least with everyone. We gotta do that again.
Good tournament
We’re only going to host one tournament for September/October instead of one of each month. So it will be either late September or early October, I’m currently aiming for October 1st. The next tournament after that will be November 19th which is right after UMvC3 comes out.
So here’s my critique of the tournament, I think stopping casuals exactly when everyone is registered is a good idea. If you want some casuals then just get there early, you have an entire two hours technically until registration is suppose to be closed after all. The fact that everything ended at 9 too meant anyone could get money matches or casuals in after all that was done in the first place because it was still a sane time and fewer people had to rush home. thumbs up
I guess as a player I just have to say thanks for all the help from the 3S community and I don’t remember names but in particular I can remember is that Sal, Matt and David helped me a ton with what I should look into but everyone was really great. I’m super hype for 3SO.
As far as videos go, I have an entire 8 gigs of video this time although it’s because I actually recorded the full top 8 or maybe top 7 of 3S along with all of Grand Finals for Tekken 6, and Grand finals for SSF4. I don’t think I got to marvel in time since I was also entering and recording so many tournaments and Arcana got covered by Seventh. I think I may have missed MK too though I did get Matt vs Demo for that, so just expect the videos to get up there throughout this week. They will all be up before Friday morning.

I JUST left EZ after waking up on one of the lounge chairs. Think that was the most fun I’ve had in Fayettenam.
GGs to everyone that exposed me for the scrub I am, and thanks to all the people that kept the tourney smooth so that we could get those games in. Thinking it’s lab time for the rest of the week if Vindictus doesn’t drag me in.

Looking at the calendar, that sucks. UMvC3 will have been out for like 4 days. But what can you do? Next week is Thanksgiving, the week after is probably NEC.

rese will probably be my last tourney in NC since I’m moving back to NY soon. EZ was ran really well, kudos to the people who helped run everything. The shortage of sticks was kind of funny to me. Good shit NC I’m gonna miss the FG scene out here.
EZ tournament was run fast as hell, that was good, but maybe you should have some PS3’s running AE/mvc3 cuz we clearly don’t have enough xbox sticks in this community lol.
I can agree to this. I don’t really think a dual system tournament is a bad idea unless the case is that a certain game runs worse on a certain system over another like a bad port or something similar. I personally just bought my own stick for each system seeing as how that’s the only true way to be sure that you can play on either without any issues but obviously it’s not very cost effective. If any of you are looking to get a new stick I would suggest a Qanba if you can find it, nice dual modded stick usually retails for 150 or so but sells out fast.
Sounds like EZ was a blast. I can’t wait till I get a chance to go.

3SO debut for a tourney. Should be bringing in some old school players in NC. I have been trying to get them to come out for this, we will see.

I run a dual system tourney and let me tell you that it works out great. Like you said I don’t see a reason to limit yourself to one system or the other unless there is a bug or something.
Considering the frame differential between xbox and ps3 a tournament both for any game has been and still is a bad idea.
Had a good time at EZ and some great work on getting the tournament to run as efficiently as it did.
Also, for Arcana 3 : I’ll be adding more Arcana videos, hopefully tomorrow. My internet is pretty bad, so after the losers/grand finals, I just started uploading matches from the tournament instead of the entire sets. I’ll make a DVD though for anyone who wants all the matches / all the sets.

Anyone play around the Gaston area? Slim chances, I know, but I’ve found a venue that would be willing to run some small scale tournaments in anyone is interested.
^^^This. I can play on one, or I can play on the other…but asking someone to play on both and learn new timings every game is not something I’m going to drive to.

Hey guys i am going to take a break from going to ez and salty thursdays, I have recently learned that i kinda play street fighter TOO much . To a point that it cosumes most of my day . I am playing for all the wrong reasons utlitamely i am not having fun anymore . i respect all the nc players and ez but i just cant live my life like this no more its not heathly for me . I am not saying i am done with fighting games in general nor am i saying i will stop playing competivetly . I just need to reconfigure myself and my additude towards my skills plus the community . I will still do tournaments especailly the oct . tournament also the november one . untill then i will see you guys later .
EZ tourny was damn hype well the tekken 6 and 3S, I got blown the hell up. I’m just gonna have level up with a arcade stick. I’ll comeback out as soon as possible it was too much fun. Plus I’m gonna have to get some solid pads so I can show I’m not that free.

but EZ was worth going, I was improving every time I got offline play chance…such a blast and fun lol
