How much is it going to be to enter T6/AE/Arcana if they are ranbats?
I told Ed to make Arcana a minor, so I know that’s $5… Dunno about the others though…
And regardless if Gamefrog starts at 7, I will definitely be there well before then with my PS3 / Arcana / Tekken for casuals if anyone wants to play.
Also, if no one else is bringing a crt for Arcana, I’ll try to bring one… though if not, we can use that big tv at gamefrog.

Good question. Someone told me if I wanted to meet competitive players and play matches with them, SRK was the place to post up on. Took 2+ months of ranting just to get into the front door.

Since Gamefrog is starting at 7pm, does that mean sign up will be at 6pm? I’ve never really played 3S seriously, but I have a copy so I’ll just get the basics down and enter the tourny at EZ. Should be fun stuff. Hope to see a large turn out for 3S since its so hype.

Ok…real talk, it doesn’t require ranting…like at all…in fact, ranting is more of a reason for people to not want to play you or take you seriously. Just check SRK daily, if there’s a gathering which will be posted up, then go. The only way to “get into the front door” is to show up and play. Nothing more and definitely nothing less.
Also, another thing is why do you have to wait for people to play or to see how good NC is before you decide to play a game? No offense but it doesn’t matter how good the state is nationally if they’re all better than you. The first step to start improving in any game is just to play. When I played 3S, there wasn’t anyone in raleigh who played it. Me, Austin, and Sam basically played each other all the time. I learned off of GGPO (crack sessions with Face and Lobo) and I went to sessions with Ed or the Fayettville crew when I could.
It just seems like you need everybody around you to be world class players before you decide to play something.
I’m not trying to pick on you, but we’ve talked about this before, start small and go from there. This is a problem with a lot of new players.
Key point: JUST PLAY…IF YOU WANT TO GET BETTER, YOU WILL BY ANY MEANS. That means that you’ll go to tournaments in and out of state just to get more info and pointers to improve your game. Regardless how I’ve done at tournaments, I’ve always left with something more than what I came in with. I’m not trying to talk super big here b/c honestly when it comes to some of the og’s in this state, I still suck compared to them, but this is a learning process. I’ve told the guys in Wilmington this a lot: YOU WILL LOSE FAR MORE THAN YOU WILL WIN.

I can’t go to a session that’s posted on the forums if I don’t know the address to the place and the person doesn’t contact me back after I’ve contacted them like they asked. After ranting 2+ months on the forums I was able to make it out to Jos’ place and then Jon’s. Even got to carpool up to EZ with DP, got into Arcana thanks to Fonon, and was reunited with the bi-weekly Tekken sessions thanks to Negro, just to start on a growing list.
I played 3S, but with no one in my area to play and no tournaments to attend it felt like a waste of time and a dead end when I could be doing other things. I beat it with every character, had fun with it, and then moved on to something else. There was nothing more for me to gain from that game at the time.
P.S. Not to sound like a dick, but you basically just repeated the same thing that a lot others did. And they were just as clueless, so don’t take it personal or anything. No hard feelings.
No, seriously, no hidden meanings, I just don’t like the guy lol. He annoyed the crap out of me when Blake played him. Blake liked “how he moved” etc (gay), so I’m really hoping Dante, Vergil, K’, Ragna and Yashiro aren’t all out in games in the same era, cause that would be ultra Blake gay revival I think.

eSports…that word sounds dumb to me still, but if fighting games get to MLG/WCG level or something…I hope that it’s established community members who are behind it. I’d be afraid of homogenization of the games, endless equipment problems, bad rules, idiots running everything etc if we had an FPS-sized scene. Growing pains I guess?
