This is like the very definition of jumping the gun. I doubt ten of us even have a setup capable of running the game smoothly and I doubt those without are going to be really enthusiastic about being subjected to someones training mode combos until they get a version of the game they can actually take in the labs themselves. People will give it a try because doubtlessly it’ll show up in the freak games corner with Arcana and whatever, but I don’t see a dedicated scene coming until october.
You might want to spend more time getting good at a game that’s currently relevant instead of trying to get everyone to bandwagon with you on a game that isn’t coming out until October.
I’ve got a KOF13 set-up, but I can’t get into the options to save my life. I mapped a service button, but it just works identical to insert coin no matter where I’m at. Title screen, character select, arcade, training, nothing. I really want to mess with the input leniency people are talking about. I haven’t hooked up my stick yet, but from a simple keyboard test to be sure the game didn’t have slowdown or framerate, it feels like it lags hella bad.
And yeah, KOF13 will be a freaks game til October no matter what. Kinda like BB:CS was when it was being played on laptops… and then still when it was on home consoles. </randomaustin&blakehate>
At work so I can’t edit posts. I forgot about Lu/Phil playing KOF13, and Angus with possibly Roski, and Demo has it too. That’s a lot of old KOF players, including a few here that started back posting that I’ve never met. I also have it, which puts me and James at least trying it out on my PC. If the PC version runs well enough and people like it, the game may fare a little better than most freak games.

RE: KOF 13 - It’s hard to play a PC emulation game at a level past 1 on 1 with someone because of the need to define controllers / buttons / setup and all that. I could see 2 people playing it together but there’s no way in hell that it’s gonna see play at gatherings.
got an asus g51 with nvidia geforce gtx260m on a quad core i7.
it ran smooth with the rip i had from before, but this shit that i have now is dildos. everything is running too fast. i can’t select my characters in time to go into training mode and with the characters i do get i can barely do any bnbs.
there a fix for this?
I think the KOF at gathering thing will be easy enough. Just hook up two TEs (we’ve got plenty) and go with it, people can map default KOF buttons and use that. A C B D.
If space permits, I will bring a KOF XIII setup to Elite Zone on the 9th.
I have a perfectly working setup using PS2/USB converters (USB ports running at 1000hz) and no X-padder/Joytokey business.
I know we won’t be able to have a tournament, but I want to give everyone the chance to play the game in it’s proper form. Any PS2 pad/stick of your choice should work just fine.
Also, feel free to get at me on AIM/FB if you’re trying to get the game running yourself, I will do my best to help.

It does no good to count the heads playing/interested in playing XIII now. I can’t say much for all the new guys but minus them of the OG’s I have a good idea who’s going to play the game. Regaurdless of it all if Lu, Angus, Roski, and I play that will be plenty of comp trust me.
I would like to see a shit load of people play, but I’m not going to bitch and complain if they don’t. That’s the difference between the old guys and new ones lol.

Sweet mother of Zeus that’s far from me. Was hoping I would be able to get in maybe a couple of hours in or something but I’ve got work and a bunch of other things to do for a drive out there. If I was closer would definitely come, but I’m in Raleigh. The only other far out drive I was considering if I’m unable to carpool will be EZ since I have boxing practice as well to juggle with everything else. Will definitely see about hitting you up though if I know I’m gonna be in the area again. Was hoping to find people in my area who play. Why is it that all the people I do find live like and hour+ away from me?
