On that KOF juice hard. Even though I’ve never seriously played one before, I really like 13.
Managed to get 863 damage with Hyper Drive + 2 meters with Hwa just kind of dicking around, haha.

“Have you ever been to Bangkok?”

lolinfraction.
Add me to the KOF list.
West IS A MODERATOR?!
I expect to see a Rose ball tournament at the next EZ. If you don’t know about it you need to get on it! That ish was hype! lol
West has been a Mod… forever
There’s no Handicap option in SSF4 right? Only Vanilla?
I don’t think I’ll be going back to Lucky’s again unless someone else is running it. Xrii was not familiar with the tonamento changes at all and had mad bracket resets he had to piece together with other people. Not the biggest deal, but coupled with his lack of enthusiasm lately gives off the vibe he just doesn’t care. There was so little promotion that when I texted Roski earlier this week to talk trash, he didn’t even know there was a Lucky’s and couldn’t ask for work off at that point. I’m having to learn about Lucky’s on Facebook instead of SRK, and that’s not quite right.
Xrii, you seemed mad hype for this stuff when you started. You had at least a post on every page promoting it and shit. Sure, running the tourny was a bit hectic, but a few people helped out and things went smoothly and it was nice. Not sure why you stopped caring starting around your 3rd Lucky’s. Although I’ll doubt you’ll read this unless I copy/paste it to facebook, but I don’t use facebook to learn about tournaments, that’s what SRK is for. I use facebook to talk random shit to people I play fighting games with. I use SRK to read what people I play fighting games with are saying… and talk random shit to them. Ok so I guess they are kinda similar. But still. Hype it up here, not on facebook.
Good lookin’ out Porter
Yeah I’ll talk with them again to see if they’re still interested. They sounded interested before but I never followed up with them since the response here was so underwhelming. Here’s the place to anyone curious about it:
Anyone remotely near Raleigh wouldn’t have much of a trip on their hands. Anybody that attends EZ on the regular wouldn’t be looking at too bad of a drive either.
Would love to get anyone interested to post saying so.
I’ll let you know i’m in support of a new venue so if there are enough people ok with this place you can count me and my 5 or 6 people I typically bring to tournaments to also support you. All I care about is the lag on tvs so as long as its minimal to none or we’re bringing our own CRTs and equipments then it’s all good with me. I can help provide a CRT as well if needed since lugging it around to Raleigh isn’t so bad.
I’m down for sessions in FV since I can get there in less than an hour, it just depends on the day it’s being hosted. Of course I can’t show up Friday because of EZ and I’d normally wouldn’t show up on Saturdays cause of tournaments.
As for Lucky’s I’m not sure what to think about it. It’s pretty much been a NC tradition for the past 4 years, so it would suck to see it die like this. I have nothing against Miguel since I don’t know him on a personal level like that, but I get the feeling that nobody in NC knows him to that level. How many people have actually hung out with him for an extended period of time? As far as I’ve heard he hasn’t really ever gone to a session or even another tournament not ran by himself. Actually I can’t even recall a time where I saw him playing fighting games at all. If Lucky’s does come back than I would prefer for it to be ran by someone in the community who we actually know, or if Miguel still wants to run it then he needs to get more involved with the community.
I’d go as soon as i’m in a good enough condition to go back out to stuff. I think i’ve seen the place, at least i’ve seen a guy in a Mario and Sonic costume hanging out on the street corner, so I assume it’s there.
From fayetteville, you can get there through some back roads, maybe about 45 mins. From Cary, it’s probably about 20 mins. From Apex, maybe 15 mins. From Raleigh…it depends where you are, but probably somewhere about 30-35 mins.
lol I spoke to strafe gaming lounge and the owner will be getting back to me later on today, RUaGamer doesn’t open till 12 so i’ll speak to them later.
We should start with trying to set up a tournament and see how that goes, if it goes well then maybe we can add sessions and make the tournaments a regular monthly/bi-monthly thing.
damn guys cut miguel some slack. he gave everyone a months notice ON SRK for luckys, sure he didnt really “hype” it up but most people don’t get hype for tournaments just because you posted the words “hype” or “GET HYPE”, unless you have a hype video or some shit like out of state players are coming. also i don’t see anyone else steping up to the plate and sure he made some mistakes but then that just gives him better experience as an tournament organizer. i had alot of fun at luckys and im grateful that we at least still have lucky tournaments.
You should start it the other way around, do sessions first then tournaments. Having weekly sessions will allow the venue to trust the players more and give the community time to check out and approve the venue. Once a level of trust has been established then you can host a tournament with a guaranteed turnout.
@Jimmy (gamewizard108 not Smurvis)
If Miguel wants to defend himself then let him do it himself, you don’t need to act like a guardian. It was cool the first time he hosted Lucky’s but ever since then it has just gotten worse with each tournament. It just seems like his heart isn’t in it and this should be a notice for the Triad scene. If you want Lucky’s to continue and think you can run it then step up or Miguel just simply needs to become more involved with the community.
I can’t remember, were you around when Roski was running Lucky’s and was constantly posting “hype” and “GET HYPE” everywhere?
Thing is, it worked.
this.
I’m hella grateful for any Lucky’s that takes place. My only time to actually get to play people offline it seems
Strafe also has a Facebook they check regularly…
There were better games, better players, less noobs, and I was actively instigating shit lol.
Good idea. It looks like space for our setups is the hurdle to get over at both venues, RUA owner said he will try to figure out a way to accomodate us space wise. He knows the owner of EZ in Fayetville so those sessions going well should help us out a bit with him.
Strafe gaming seems to not have much space either, I think if either of these places is a go it’d be RUA but we’ll see.

Sadly, once again my session tonight is cancled. Work…
