Also for the record, 3P / 3K buttons are allowed in tournaments. The whole “arcade setting” argument isn’t going to be valid for much longer, considering there is no arcade setting left to reference.

Lol mapping throw in sf4 is not banned in competitive play unless its your rule, generally its not banned and has no basis too be its a waste of a button and is pointless thats common sense on any end. Unless you have sonic boom mapped to a button then you can have any mapping you want so whoever said this is incorrect unless its a nc rule. Also double blocking is an advantage and is stupid but on a 360 pad when you double block you add hand motion and that can be problematic.

Tourneys started in the Arcades plain and simple. All we are doing now is living in a virtual simulation of the old 80’s & 90"s Arcade experience. That’s all. Controllers I can understand, but not all these cheesy cheating tactics,or why not just allow turbo pads and program pads as well,LAME (-_-)q
If mapping buttons for street fighter seems cheap to you then you arent deeply involved with the game seeing as how those same maps most people i have played here (with no offense to anyone people) people areashing on anyway and they dont even have them mapped (I.E. Throwtech, all i see playing against folks here is counterhit evertime i throw a frame trap for i3) and seriously 3p and 3k? What advantage ate they given using things buttons? Pad players require it and some viper players need it but the ones that do are ass. Seriously no button mapping in sf4 covers up poor fundamentals. Some of you should look at the deeper aspects of the game (again with no personal offense to anyone)

Yeah, and Capcom can then release another fighter with crud programming that not only lets you block forward and back at the same time, but high and low too. The way things are going, if tournaments for these games are going to be taken seriously, you’re going to have to do equipment checks and provide standardized controllers to prevent people from outright cheating.
Seriously, stuff like this just makes me miss arcades even more. Games are jokes now.
3P/3K is usually allowed aside from FR claiming it was going to ban it and then didn’t. But throw/focus/taunt/whatever has never been allowed. 3P/3K was nearly banned and eventually left in cause it’s “default.” But none of that other stuff has been allowed. And I agree with Blake’s post above me.

I’m just trolling Jimmy, when you gonna learn? People are complaining about it but realistically, no one in NC is going to get a double block button.
I mean, honestly if you get your controller rewired to have a double block button, you’re a fucking asshole lol. I strategic asshole but an asshole none the less. I can’t blame them for doing it if they really want to win right now but do I see it becoming a problem? Not really. I don’t think many people would go to that length and I’m sure they would get incredible amounts of shit for it if they did. Plus you’re only hurting yourself as a player if you use that, since it’ll get patched out with the next update or edition to Marvel and then you’re stuck not knowing how to defend.
On mapping 3P / 3K though… pad players really do need that. They already give up plinking for the most part, and hitting 3 punches is 10x harder on a pad than it is a stick. It’s not like they’re able to do something the other players aren’t, and you have access to it yourself. It’s on the fucking default settings for christ sake. That arcade argument is kinda retarded btw. We don’t even have any arcades in NC, and most of America, so how is it even a point of contention? And with games like Marvel, there isn’t even an arcade port for it. There’s stuff a lot deeper than just “can he hit the buttons” and I don’t think that should get in the way of the actual fight for people.
