You guys have been playing the game for over 3 years now with people using this stuff and now it’s an issue and you all are getting down about games because of it just because it’s the topic of discussion at the moment?

It’s fucking sad that games are made so horribly now that you can legitimately input two conflicting directions to avoid being crossed up completely. It’s sadder that there are people who don’t realize exactly how atrocious that this is. I don’t give a fuck about 3P/3K. That’s fine. It’s the shit that’s invalidating legit strategies that I don’t like.
Damn pad players. You guys just need to join the club of elite stick users. Really…who uses a pad these days??? It’s not like you could really be any good anyways…
3P/3K is fine. Throws/others aren’t. Double block is BS and it is indeed sad. I had started really getting back into marvel until that. Oh well. I still enjoy AE and there’s still time for kof13 and arcana.
I think it’s dumb too, it does invalidate a lot of the game. Not that anyone likes him but that’s basically wolverine’s entire gameplan negated. But I don’t think we will see this at all. I don’t plan on doing this and I really can’t imagine any of our other players doing it, and I seriously doubt they wouldn’t patch this out. If you like the game, just enjoy it and play it normally.
all this talk makes me even more happy that i play tekken. none of this shit exists, and button maps have been banned since day 1.

Yep, I’m sold now, though since it’s 95-style Billy I don’t expect him to be too good. I’ll use him no matter what. I just hope we get another new character (and not a reskinned Iori) to go with him. Eiji, Duck King, or Yamazaki would be my personal choices, even though of the three I’d only use Yamazaki.
Double blocking is so dumb, I don’t even play MVC3 but it worries me for the future of programming what other types of bullshit will be put into these newer games. I started off on 3S and GG was when I really got into fighters and don’t remember any of these things being an issue. I guess it’s just the newer generation of fighters.

So basically, this argument was pointless. PS3 was tournament standard before and should remain that way, it has less controller assignment / account issues and you can’t double block. So just is case anyone just skips over this post and keeps the attitude of “fuck marvel”…

it’s not what was “put” into the game, it’s what was overlooked/left out. programming is difficult, if it wasn’t, then everyone would do it. yes, the patch would be small, they’d just have to get it approved and whatever other hoops people have to jump through to get patches uploaded to XBL and PSN.
having said that, the patch would be something like this:

the only thing that worries me programming wise, is that they’re not reusing much code. if a lot of the problems were solved with old SF4 code, i don’t know why they wouldn’t use the same “input” code from other games for other games. starting game engines from scratch is part of the problem of why the production costs of games have skyrocketed. same with net code, viewer lobbies, match recording, whatever. YOU HAVE THE CODE, use it!
We all know that it should be banned and we all know that it would be an unenforceable ban. All we can do is hope that Capcom patches it out. Seriously, what more can be said about this conversation? It feels like NC is overreacting to this more than the rest of the world.

If you guys are complaining about throw/focus button maps seriously this is sad because what advantage does it give you? None, people are mashing on the commands even without the mapping of a button. This is sad. Oh also the mapping of throw/focus on pad has never been not allowed in sf4 it’s just not used because it’s a waste of a button, seriously where are you guys rulings coming from?
