North Carolina Thread LVII

um wut?
I had to go home. And I did beat you with Chun. I surprised myself because you had been playing longer.
I was free with Makoto.

you kind of went out of your way to make it sound like you beat him overall. if you beat someone one match out of ten its probably not a good idea to publicly claim you were “beating” them. and its definitely not good to call the person out specifically. stay free

So I got my team a little more solid. Right now it’s Zero / Dorm / xxx. Tried out C.Viper and lets say… dorm and her have some cheesey ass shit. Are there any other characters with overhead assists other than her and Akuma?

Makoto has always been free.

The most Godlike deal. West be scanning those westernets hard.

Nope. Viper doesn’t seem JNLK at all. She’s a fuckload of work, with rewards only available to those who really drill her shit hard (Kyohei).

I said i beat him. As in I beat him. Why is this a big deal? I won against some dude I don’t know with my Chun. I didn’t go out of my way to type a message on a forum, it isn’t difficult and I wasn’t trying that hard. I wasn’t even boasting just saying what happened. I said I beat him and he had been playing longer than me. The ocerall thing was an inferring on behalf of those reading. I don’t get him getting mad or the thing about “ragequitting”, I had to go home then or else I may have not gotten home. Calm down.

Anyway, the tournaments look like they’ll be monthly if some of you decide to show up. Next one is is next saturday. Featured games so far are Marvel 3, and that’s it so far. What else do you want to see there? I’m trying to make this legit.

beat him once != beating him

Yeah probably not, I’m just experimenting, that’s why I asked about other overheads. I can do about 500-600k (wooo…) with viper pretty reliably off random hits or seismo. She definitely is a lot more lenient than in SSF4 so quite a bit more playable but I’m not sure what her approach is and how good her buttons are. I get the feeling she wants to mash seismo a lot. She doesn’t seem THAT hard. But I also dunno how good either. I’m sure I’d drop her shit in person like I do every other character though.

But yeah with dorm you can just start a block string, call viper, lay down a flame carpet, easy mode unblockables lol.

Yo real talk, I was totally beating Roski that one time when we were playing SSF4 on PSN when he was trolling me with El Fuerte and still somehow winning at like a 1,000,000 to 1 ratio. You know what, I should just omit that last part so people can easily misinterpret my post and make it seem as if I was actually winning the majority of my matches. Actually why would I even post something this dumb? Whatever I guess I’ll post it anyways and act confused when everyone is upset at me even though my post is obviously misleading.

Chun Li vs Balrog/Vega is such a boring and gay match anyways. Nothing to fret on about.

ummm distraction…

BB:CS copies are $14.99 (PS3) and $17.99 (360) at Best Buy :o

Well according to Cheapassgamers anyways.

In case anybody wants to game tomorrow I’m hosting starting around 8 pm.

Winning a single match over the course of an entire session means absolutely nothing. With these game-changing comeback mechanics in the new games, it’s very easy for a much better player to lose one match out of 20 where he wouldn’t lose it before.

And it’s the sets that really matter, cause that’s how tournaments are. I’ll go to Matt’s house and have a day with him where I never win a set, but we have quite a few 2-1’s. That still isn’t really beating him, nor is it “I beat him once” even. You can also call like a FT5 or FT10, but even if the final score is 10-9 other guy’s favor then you still lost, you just put up a good fight.

You can’t even really go by health bars. People just expect “good players” to perfect them, and then when they don’t get perfected they go “oh well I still put up a good fight” cause they hit them with wake-up super and dropped them to half life.

tl;dr
I got $20 on Q.

I’ma drop by tonight, didn’t host this week so I gotta get my fix before EZ.

I’ve beaten everyone in here atleast once, I’m the best clearly.

There is a skill in knowing when/how to steal wins, and in knowing how to avoid comeback mechanics.

You’re right that wake-up super to reduce to half life isn’t “playing it close” though.

Anybody able to give me a ride to EZ this friday? I has gas money.

I’ll be going to EZ tomorrow, anyone that wants a ride thats from the RDU area or lives in between RDU and Fayetville send me a PM. Robo I can’t see your location thanks to this great new SRK update.

Doom I’m going to try and stop by tonight, i’ll send you a PM.
