Nah there is lag on both tv’s matt. Angus, Roski and Q came by and noticed it quickly. I believe there is a 1-2 frame difference between both tvs. i love how one’s an lg and the other is a sony
I think roski said he’d do something there and that he’d get some crt’s in as well.
To anybody who has a ps3: Got an unwrapped copy of MK9 for 40bux. PM me if you’d like to buy it.
Being that I’d rather compete in Tekken then any of the rest it truly breaks my heart that alot of people don’t play it at all. Guess I’ll just have to wait until July.
Kevin: The system is not as important as having lagless HD monitors available. Blazblue just doesn’t look right on a CRT, either the view is too small or the corners get cut off. I can usually provide my Asus for gatherings or tournaments. I personally think PS3 is better for tournaments, especially after playing on 360s at gatherings and noticing the absolute pain that changing controllers can be.
Also, asking again, anybody wanna help me out with a new avatar?
360’s are fine when people use regular xbox controllers or arcade sticks sticks. Switching controllers is not a problem. Its just that when people start using converters the 360 is like “Que?” So in the end PS3’s are better for major gatherings unless the only people who show up have xbox controllers.
I disagree. You have to utterly make sure you turn your controller off when you get off the station or else the person who plugs their stick/pad in will have no luck. Sometimes, even if the controller is turned off after the fact, the 360 will just say “nah son I don’t like you” and you end up having to reboot or something equally stupid. I had an incident at Jon’s where we couldn’t get signed out of Tami’s profile in order to get back on Jon’s profile that had save data because of controller issues. Overall, I have not been impressed with the 360.
The PS3 is definitely better for big gatherings and tournaments, you can always reassign even if someone forgets to turn their controller off (though you still better turn your controller off, especially at a tourney, unless you want to have some very salty people accosting you).
Guaranteed major games (expected to fill out a 32-64 player bracket)
Super Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition
Marvel vs Capcom 3
Possible minor games (expected to fill out a 8-16 player bracket)
Mortal Kombat
BlazBlue Continuum Shift 2
Arcana Heart 3
Tekken 6
Street Fighter 3: Third Strike
Guilty Gear XX Λ Core
I can’t think of any other game that can generate a guaranteed 8 players. Of course we can just have sign ups for all of these games open and if we don’t get 8 players for a game we’ll just cancel it, although that could potentially be very disappointing for the players involved. Like what was said earlier, I would rather not advertise a game if we can’t guarantee the bare minimum amount of players to show up.
Cool then BB:CS2 should be PS3 especially Austin saying “So in the end PS3’s are better for major gatherings” , if a monitor could be provided then that would be helpful, I have a 26" 720p westinghouse LCD that I never felt any lag on, but I know lag can be subjective. Well guess I might bring it, and see how it runs for other people. is CS2 a DLC?
Yeah this was always a tuff thing, and voting never really helped, think I’ve expressed this before, but it was always goofy how votes for a certain game would earn said game a spot on the tournament then like only 3 people sign up.
I have another question…I might not be remembering correctly, but does MK9 really take some time to run? It felt like the tournament dragged or maybe the matches were very close, I didnt see all the matches.
AH3 is really iffy, I mean I like the game and all but I can only really name about 6 people that consistently show up to stuff. We’re still really low in number, although we would have to see how it goes after the game is back on PSN since right now the only people that have it are the people like me who bought it in the 5 hrs that psn was up and those who imported. Tekken 6 seems pretty easy to get about 8 roughly, atleast easier than AH3. Blazblue… i’m a bit salty about the game since back in CT and CS i’d continually show up to tournaments (prob 4 total) and it’d be like 4-6 people max but if we have 8 people in NC that play it then awesome.
CS2 is a free download but the characters are DLC, there’s 3 characters and on XBL they are 8 bucks each and don’t know about PSN but they were more expensive.
I fully support BBCS2 in tournaments. Even if a tournament is out of question (I’ve had a few tourneys in NorCal with showings of about 5 people), gotta get the game exposure by bringing it. I can at least bring the game and a stick to the Cary tournament.
TitaniumBeast, I’m adding you to my PSN. Met some BB people from SC and they said NC players are few are far in between so I figure we can try to get this ball rolling.
Oh, and I’ll probably come to at least one EZ tournament to bring BB. Checked the place out last night.
I’m all for BBCS2 at the next EZ tournament. I will enter no question if its on 360, and on ps3 if I can use someones stick or if my stick is dual modded by then.
Got a job at UNC-CH (and used to live in Fayetteville). Working in Cali right now is worse than playing Phoenix on point. A friend of mine (Sam) said that there’s going to be something at Lucky’s in June, though I’m probably remembering it totally wrong.
BB will always be GG’s little brother: trying really hard to be cool and fit in, but not quite there. But it’s all we’ve got for now.
Friday at EZ was kinda dead…But it was a good chance to practice:) And got lots a MVC3 pointers from Will and Dustin, thanks again! If yall need more BB CS2 players I’ll play. I’m not sure the changes made to Ragna,so…I’ll have to look them up.(-0-)/ lol GG’s little step Sister.
PS: MBAA is much much better…
