Brian(taktikcs) is having a session sunday at his house, hes about 15 min from uncc, but beware he has a plasma, some people say its fine but i don’t like it, Darklight is gone for the summer.
I’ll be rocking this at a gathering near you soon. Thanks.
So I asked off to come to EZ next weekend. Should be a fun time.
pretty interesting MK auction tourney going on the UFGT. never heard of one being done like that before, neat idea. i wouldn’t enter one like that, but i suppose it could be fun if you’re good with a low tier
for those that haven’t seen it or heard of it, basically you bid on auction on your favorite character, and only you are allowed to play them in the tourney. it’s a 16 man capped tourney, Kung Lao went for $25, Ermac was $27, Kano was $25.
Perfect Legend won with that Kung Lao, the Ermac and Kano lost round 1 :o
I’m watching SSF4 auction tourney right now, $42 Blanka, $32 Chun both lost first round.
Ah, that’s not too bad. Since it’s on the bus route.
pokes Head in, Looks around,…Dips back out
The Lucky’s tournament on June 18th, is there a page for it? I’m pretty sure MvC3 and MK9 will be up, but was wondering about Tekken since I hear its not as poplar here in NC?
I had a great time at Animazement yesterday. Finally got a chance to play AH3, they had a tourney for that and SSFIV on PS3. Also the in the vendor’s room, the New York VideoGame Store ppl had fightsticks and supplies for sale. I was able to pick up an 8-way gate and install it in the game room thanks to the man who runs it. He’s a very nice person. Now all I need is that PS360 mod and I’m good to go. I hope to see some of you there. I’ll most likely be around the CvsSNK2/SF:A area if not around the consoles.
It goes two ways:
- Announce Tekken tournament at Lucky’s. 7 people enter.
- Do not announce Tekken tournament at Lucky’s. Lots of people ask why there isn’t a Tekken tournament at Lucky’s. Someone says they’ll run a tournament anyway. 7 people enter.
- announce a mystery tournament, 8 people unknowingly enter tekken best value
So the next EZ tournament will probably be on 7/9/2011 since it’s a date that Kevin suggested and the manager said he’s cool with it. So here’s the updated thread:
Elite Zone - Fayetteville, NC - 7/9/2011
Still need to know what minor games y’all want. Remember that we need at least 8 players to run a game as a minor.
Also I think Xrii said that he couldn’t find the Lucky’s thread that he made, well it still does exist, I had it linked on the first page.
And are there any tournaments or sessions that I need to add/remove from the first page?
I’m rather late to post this but there is a Wilmington tournament Happening today and every Saturday at 4pm.

10 dollar entry, eight contestants necessary for the tournament to proceed. Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Trying to get mk and other games in, house is rather frightened about mk although they do allow play of other m rated games (weird). Personally I want to get some classic sf and some windjammers in.
We have two monitors in house, both lcd. Some lag, yes, not anywhere near horrible from my experience… If you don’t like that and we start having bigger turnouts than 8- which we really hope to do- we can bring some crts. I know I have 3 extra ones. However we only have two working xboxes in house so we’d have to up the count of those two.
Stick and pad allowed.
Character change on loss allowed.
No BS Zero Glitches. We would like our game to work.
You’ve got it backwards. You have to prove your equipment is up to par before you get bigger turnouts, not the other way around. “Some lag” is too much for anybody to consider driving to compete. Also, Zero glitch was gone a patch ago; make sure your systems are patched.
Or go to Elite Zone tekken tournament and have 13 people enter.
That’s great, where were those people at Lucky’s? Hmm yep.
They weren’t in the scene then, forget the fact that Luckys hasn’t been a consistent monthly tournament for many months in a row now and that the fighting game scene isn’t stagnant or anything as far as getting new players. The last tournament was February and the next one is in June which is a 4 month difference, before February it was in December. I mean in the end I do have my own doubts that Tekken is going to last because this is NC and we don’t roll like that but just MAYBE if the players want it enough they will keep it going.
I honestly hope that a couple of folks pick BB back up with CS2 out now. I really want that game to be good and I want people to play it. It’s not GG, but damnit, it’s about the closest thing I’ve got right now that more than five people in NC will play.
That’s nice. We’re talking about why Lucky’s doesn’t have Tekken tournaments, which is because historically people haven’t shown up. Its not fair to announce it and potentially have someone travel from out of state when the locals don’t bother to show up. Get 13 people at the next couple of Lucky’s for unofficial Tekken and redeem it.
I dont see why this shouldnt happen at the tournament, would everyone agree that EZ next tournament official games be whats held at EVO, I am too lazy to do any extra investigating, but someone let me know if this is not correct for the EVO 2011 lineup:
[]Super Street Fighter IV
[]Marvel VS. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds
[]TEKKEN 6
[]Mortal Kombat

BlazBlue: Continuum Shift
We can make these official tournament games, and as for other games of interest, they can be run on the side if time persists. Of course 3S will more than likely happen, but so can others preferrably with the 8 man rule being a factor. BlazBlue CS2 would have to be voluntary brought, I am not sure what system is preferred so anyone care to shed the light on this, would be helpful. Input folx!! Make it happen!
Yea of course it’s not fair because it has happened before at lucky’s before. Tekken was definitely dead a while back but it’s been getting a lot of new players these past months so I don’t see why they wouldn’t show up to a lucky’s for a game they like if they show up to the gatherings and the EZ gatherings/tournaments.
I can agree to this. These are also the games being held at most majors. As far as consoles I really don’t care though I do think if the majority of majors use a specific version for a game that we should be running that version (360 or ps3). Obviously there are problems no matter what you do with people not having a specific stick depending on the console but there are always enough people willing to help out it seems with that problem.
