Re: Phoenix changes, that one change instantly levels the playing field in a lot of matchups versus Phoenix. There were a lot of characters that simply could not touch her because she could super jump and fire off homing projectiles while having the option to instantly teleport to the ground. Having only one air action per jump gives several characters a much better chance against her. Dark Phoenix with level 3 XF will still be scary, but that one change constitutes a huge nerf to her current gameplan. Mixups on incoming Phoenix after a snap will also be more reliable.

I meant the new character that I care about. Hammer nerf sucks, but oh well. Depending on how other things change, he might not even need it. More concerned about combo changes with Dante, as that’s half the reason I played him.
I’m trying to learn Dante now. He seems cool.
Since Viewtiful Joe has been under the radar, I’m banking on him getting a few buffs and while his really good stuff remains, ie. instant overhead and voomerang spam.

No mystery intended, just came out like that. In any case, hopefully he’s broken and Dante and Strider stay broken. That game will probably be silly again, so I’m hoping the characters I like end up overpowered.

I’ll put MVC3 up first then Tekken then SSF4… MVC3 files aren’t too big since the matches went fast it’s just the frickin 20 minute 720p matches on SSF4 that is gonna take like 4+ hrs per upload. I guess expect Marvel by Monday night at the latest, Tekken around Wednesday and SF around friday. Good stuff at Gamefrog. Great to see Demo and all them. Had some pretty awesome matches there. Thanks again for running it Saisyu. Lookin forward to the next one. And btw, for those of you who said that the TV’s at Gamefrog were laggy as hell.

They are not laggy like you are describing, so take the kick to the mothafukin face and shut up.
Of the TVs at Gamefrog, the one that Marvel was originally on before the tourney was definitely laggy. I already discussed this with Edward. The other TVs along the side wall were better. There’s a way to test all of these displays for lag to get a definitive answer.
I had a lot of fun at gamefrog. Thanks to Ed for running it and everyone who helped, esp. Mike with recording all that.
Im usually able to tell if there is lag and I had no problems at gamefrog, my iron man was working just fine. If there was any lag it wasnt noticeable and I played on every tv used for the marvel tournament (all except 2 setups).
I along with a few others didnt have a ps3 stick but everyone was really nice abt sharing equipment, thx to all for that as well. Ill def be back at the next gamefrog and shoutouts to the random dude who came to his first tournament and placed third, hope he joins the community.

Gamefrog was good. The setups to the side were good but the setups at the front had mild lag but those weren’t being used for tournaments for the most part so it didn’t really matter. The glare for that one light was annoying but there wasn’t anything we could have done about it. My bigger complaint is the scheduling, next time make sure to run multiple tournaments at the same time. We had 14 players in MvC3, 8 players in T6 and 12 players in AE and it took us from 5-1 (8 hours) to finish it up. If you improve the scheduling then I’ll definitely make it back out.

I plan to show up like 7-10ish, i’ll bring a setup for the time i’m there and can get some AE in and maybe record a few casuals just to continue the self improvement game for everyone who is a more visual learner and wants to go back and see if they can improve anywhere.
Also TVs at Gamefrog. I don’t really feel like any of them really lagged much or if it did then it was very minimal. I hit every link I know on SSF4 and played Tekken just fine. However i’m far from the best judge of lag and I do know that each game can handle lag a bit differently as well which we found out when Brandinos setup lagged pretty bad on MVC3 at Kris’s place but not much at all for AH3.
This thread depresses me.
I suppose it’s better to lose and then learn something from it (IE: facing a spencer player at evo) than it is to win and then get bodied by unknown matchups at evo. Can’t say I was particularly enthusiastic after doing so shitty so I didn’t really wanna hang around for 4, plus I figured we wouldn’t have enough for MK. GOod game frog though, nice turn out. I didn’t really have much of a problem with the TVs. The new setup is definitely nice.
In the future, I’m using every single resource I have to kill wolverine if I have to. There’s no letting him live. -_-
Edit: Looks like to make up for the flame carpet nerf, Dorm can do dark spells in the air now.
