During the year we usually have sessions at UNCC on Saturday, however that is currently on sabbatical for the Summer. Once Fall starts up, we’ll be starting again.
It is a very chill atmosphere, mostly because we all know each other. I’d say about 90% of us are serious tournament players, but we do casual stuff too, and nobody is going to make fun of you if you’re a beginner. We all start somewhere, and most of us are happy to help you learn and improve your game.
Just try the tournament on Sunday. There’s no pressure to enter anything, and we’ll be having casuals throughout most of the day.
So in Lieu of Sam coming over to my place Fri. for the night, I figure I should post up on here if anyone wants to come over to my place for some games tomm to prep for EZ, feel free. Im shooting to start around 7. Again plenty of space, limited systems (just an xbox 360 (maybe 2) and one copy of SSF4 AE / MVC3). I have a 42in LCD (lagless IMO with PC connection) 23in Acer Evo Monitor and a CRT TV. PM me for address, im right next to RTP.

Yeah Wolverine is crazy right now but I think Dante and Mags are both pretty ridiculous too, it’s just not so apparent right now since everyone is doing the easy shit. I was debating doing Wolvie in S but then I didn’t want him in the same tier as phoenix, guess phoenix could been S+ and wolvie coulda just been S. You’re probably right on X-23 / Spidey… I need to see some good play with them. They definitely have potential. Also Doom… I thought he was kinda meh too, but when I watch clockwork play, he really shows what the character can do. Or maybe doom just shows what clockwork can do. Was also trying to consider assists in with the overall picture though and Doom definitely has some pretty amazing assists.

Was actually going to start a conversation and invite all the players expected to go to CW3. So far the players who I know are interested are me, you, Tom, Raf, OJ, Josiah and Jon.
We still need a PS3 updated for MK and BBCS2, it’s the only piece of equipment we’re missing. I know Matt’s PS3 can fill that void but I understand if he’s still a bit cautious about bringing his equipment around after the Lucky’s fiasco. Also even if our equipment list is full it’s still alright to bring extra cause everything else will go to casuals. GET FUCKING HYPE!!!
I’d be very careful announcing this publicly. This shows up as a Google result, and an enterprising Atlus rep could have the tournament raided and shut down. I doubt that would happen as the retail game has not been released yet therefore they aren’t losing money, but they have the NA distribution rights so it is a possibility.
Oh yeah, if you guys come across some creepy guy at the tournament asking you questions and stuff don’t be alarmed. I’m gonna see about entering some tournaments, but I’m also gonna be taking pictures and video as well. Nothing real fancy or special, just want to try to spread the word about the NC scene. Haven’t come up with a finalized name yet for the YouTube account, so suggestions are welcomed. The focus of the account will be the NC FGC; Matches, tournaments, players, etc, that kinda stuff.
strange observation but is Honda (the car company) just paying Sony lots of money to force ads into the games? I went into training mode on BBCS2 and on AH3 today and right there on the menu screen is an advertisement for the new Civic. Its pretty neat because it cycle through all the different ones as part of their “to each their own” campaign, but it just doesnt belong. Or maybe its just Aksys games.

Good games last night to everyone I got to play. Yeah john I <3 your bird and I want one now its awesome. Matching hair styles are too good. Really fun/good games though. Zero’s pressure game is intense. Good practice. Will def make it back out the next chance I get.

Yeah Cockatiels are the shit, I wasn’t a big bird fan till my girlfriend got one but they’re really good pets. If you do get one, make sure to get one that’s hand raised and friendly. Generally the good ones will approach people and not be all terrified. They’ll also step up on your finger if you put it up to their chest. Trying to train them when they’re older is a bitch so it’s better to get one that’s pretrained lol. I have people over so much and she’s pretty good natured, so she’ll hop on anyone’s shoulder, she’s an attention whore lol. I think she spent one gathering on OJ’s head the whole time.
Your Wesker stuff was really nice though, the pacing of your zoning and all gunshots leading into a combo was a lot different than the other Wesker’s I’ve fought. Definitely the strongest “at neutral” Wesker I’ve played. If you stole Garrett’s (BZB) mixups you’d be even better lol
Yeah if someone could bring a TV next time that’d be boss. I have a hunch it was the cables used on the smaller TV that was causing the lag, but either way, another setup would be good. After I recover my finances from evo, I think I’ll pick up another monitor for gathering purposes (and being pimp and running a dual monitor setup =P)

Personally I think Joe is way too low. His voomerang spam with Iron Man assist often gives him the edge in most projectile wars. He’s really hard to catch if you don’t have a teleporting charcter and usually by the time he mixes you up between his lows and ridiculous overhead his resulting combo will K.O. the opponent. People just don’t know… I would say he’s B+
By the way I can bring a copy of BBCS for Xbox360…
