Hope this is not directed to me, because I sure am going to talk about Charlotte…
In that this issue needs to be DROPPED. We all know what we need to do in order to promote the scene. Face and Demo are exactly right. There’s no need to be offended when asking for honest opinions and then receiving the truth. Brad, if you really want to help Charlotte out right now, the best thing you can do is be Brian’s advertising agent on SRK since we both know he doesn’t really post on here right now.
His Facebook promoting has done a lot of good in getting new local people out, but in the long run if we want to grow in-state we need to promote on SRK also. I’ve already said it, SRK has always been the backbone of the FGC, not Facebook.
In more pressing business, my car for Greenville is now full. If any other people in Charlotte besides me, Priest, West, and Kombo feel like getting organized and going, you need to let us now so we can work out a carpool.
Priest, if you know you’re going to need to pre-reg to avoid paying the extra $5 fee.
I’m pretty new to Fighters but I come from the ssbm community ( yes I know party game ect) but I’m really looking to get into fighters more I’ve always played them my whole life. I agree with everyone getting better and stepping their shit up in general just from seeing where the melee community is right now (Not very active or serious except for our number 1) Right now I don’t have a job so the little money I do have goes to gas money to see my girlfriend in greensboro but I do have a friend that lives out there that I train with in Marvel. Right now I play AE and MVC3 but I’d really love to learn another game like 3rd strike or GG(I’ve heard so many great things about it) But I’m very serious about getting better and doing well in tournament, I want to be traveling OOS soon and get to know you guys. Basically just introducing myself to you guys and I’m looking forward to meeting/playing with you guys soon. I’m going to try my best to make everything asap.
Yeah, that weird guy that was knocking on the door cause he thought the session was still going on was me. I don’t check SRK while at work so I got there all excited to an immediate sad face when no one answered. Was really looking forward to playing. Oh well. :’(

Don’t quit on me now! Sure you may not get any interest from outside Charlotte players immediately, but if Charlotte players aren’t gonna care then who else will? All I’m saying is instead of constantly throwing “Come to our tournament,” try giving players reasons that entice them to come.

Anyone in the Fayetteville area up for some MK, MvC3, and SSFIV? I’m trying to get better at Mortal Kombat and Super Street Fighter, Not the biggest fan of MVC3 but I do enjoy playing. I use an arcade stick for all three but it only works on the Ps3, so can’t play anyone if your on the Xbox360.

Me and Tom are gonna have a friendly competition in 3rd strike. I’m gonna be teaching the cats in VA how to play 3rd strike while he’s gonna teach back home here. All I know is my students are gonna be the best. I mean c’mon, I taught TOM!! :nunchuck:
I already said it two different times, give me at least a week before announcing another date. Our last tournament was only 6 days ago, can I get some time to settle things in? There’s a lot of things I need to do before I can confirm a date. The tentative one is August 20th, but that isn’t guaranteed.
You can go to EZ tonight and get some games in although the turnout will be smaller than usual since most of the regulars will be skipping out on it today for other business. But usually we get anywhere around 20-30 players each session. Even if you only have a PS3 controller we have multiple 360 controllers so you can just borrow one.
So I spent a few minutes with blanka in training yesterday to learn how to jab->electricity and combo into jab-> eletricity. I also learned his surprise forward and backwards move, his weird sliding on the ground thing that stays active forever, air H and air M.
This is ALL i know about blanka, that is it.
Went into ranked and…LOL this characater is hilarious. I was wrecking shop, a few people beat me that knew what they were doing (happened to run into james in ranked and he handled me) but for the most part people could not stop it. Rush down blanka is hilariously easy, I think I might spend some time to actually learn how to use him.
My next one is gonna be on the weekend prolly since I’ve had some requests for that. Unless people wanna do during the week, but Jos is doing monday so I think he has the covered… I’ll figure it out next week. You still coming to Richmond / riding with me?

What really? When did you show up? I never heard any knocking other than when Nappze showed up but that was at like 11 when me and my girlfriend were talking about ghosts and then he knocked like 2 seconds after and we both jumped haha
I need practice before VA so this time I definitely will be out.
