What can we do to tell you guys in advance if this keeps on happening? I mean, we just gave you a date a month and a week or two before it even starts, and you’re saying that you’re choosing the 20th as well to have another tournament? Can we even negotiate so we can both benefit instead of just dropping one completely? I don’t intend to sound frustrated, but we need to talk about scheduling tournaments for NC if this keeps up like this. That, and I really don’t intend on us hosting another tournament on a Sunday again.

EZ seems to be whats hot right now, the biggest tournaments in NC (someone please correct me if I’m wrong). I don’t think EZ should move its date/time for any other tournament, but other tournaments should move around for EZ if they wish to be on a different day. It doesn’t seem like the date is set in stone yet but If the 20th is the date that makes the most sense to the people putting the work and effort in making EZ a success, then as a community we should support that since EZ is a very good thing for us.

You need to spam the hell out of all the regional threads with links to the tournament. Message known players including their sponsors to try and convince them to come on down. Post of fliers around the city and have the venue itself advertise for you. That’s what I did to get the number of entrants we got.
As for the date of tournaments, I don’t want to look like a bully and force all other NC tournaments to work around EZ, that’s just a dick move. It would be easier to negotiate if Brian every posted on SRK.

Apparantly my humorous bear fascination (playing Kuma, Gief wrestles bears, etc. etc.) is hereditary.
I had heard my granddad killed a bear with a knife. I assumed this meant he shot it, and while it was laying there still alive he slit it’s throat or something. He hunts, he kills deer/moose/bears up in canada every year. It’s what he does.
No. This mother fucker is in a boat with some hunters up in Canada, shoots a bear, and the bear takes off running. He drops his gun and grabs his knife, jumps out of the boat and swims (a little river outlet, it wasn’t far) and chases this mother fucker down and jumps on him. Somewhere in this ordeal he kills the bear with the knife and ends up with three broken ribs and some cuts that needed stitches. He’s 87 right now and this happened back in like 86, so he was 61-62 at the time.
That’s some of the most hardcore shit I’ve ever heard in my life to not be a scene in an action movie.
I’ll be more than likely headed to Gamefrog. Depends on when I start working. If I’m not working I should definitely be there considering its 15 minutes away from my place.

lol @ complaining about 3 hours. I haven’t returned home from a tournament BEFORE 5AM in years. Man up and get a better excuse.
As for the Charlotte tournaments, I don’t go to them because they’re an inferior product. For the most part they are scheduled at the same time as an EZ/Lucky’s (next month will be 3 in a row?), they aren’t advertised whatsoever (which puts forth a perception the TO doesn’t care), and nobody that I’m interested in playing goes to them. I would MUCH, MUCH rather drive 2.5 hours to an EZ tournament and play the best players than drive 20 minutes and be miserable in Concord all day long. I don’t spend $30 in gas and 2.5 hours driving to EZ because I enjoy being in a shitty mall in Fayetteville sweating my ass off and smelling awful BO. I go because they have good players in the game I play. If Charlotte tournaments really want eastern NC players to come, you have to make it worth it.
Personal choice man… personal choice. No one was complaining about it. We’re explaining our choices when ASKED why we don’t come out. It’s also different when you’re driving out to play the rest of the state vs us just driving out to play Charlotte. In your position I would make the drive for sure.
If someone comes out and say “Man, 3 hours is too far” that’s complaining. It is volunteered information.
If someone comes out and asks you why you don’t come to their tournaments and you go “Man, 3 hours is too far” it’s a reason. You didn’t complain, but you were specifically asked why you don’t do it. It is one thing to speak up out of turn with why you don’t like something. It is another thing to be asked for your opinion specifically and then give it. Even if you would say the same thing in either situation.
Trykt, James has finally come to realize that his work schedule is random as shit and sometimes he doesn’t get home until like 9 PM. He was sad that he hasn’t done any and he sounded still interested but he seemed to think everyone had forgotten. That’s just my interpretation, better to hear it from him. Also, soon. I’m gonna try to make it to a raleigh gathering that hasn’t have a ban on assholes like me.

This movie is so damn good. I saw at CEO on that projector and surround sound set up they had and was a really interesting and informative take on where we were then and now as far as the story of triforce and justin wong.
Well, from seeing all of the posts in response to this, 2 interesting points have been made (There was a third, but again, we don’t usually host on Sunday lol) One is that the tournaments need to be advertised more. This is something that we can control and will do a better job with. The second is the time it takes to get to Charlotte. This is one thing we can’t control, but we strongly encourage those who can make the drive go for it, It’ll be still lots of fun. And in response to FACENC, everything starts out small, the only way it gets bigger is from the support from the state itself. And for someone to call out a tournament for being, “inferior”, is a little bit too strong of a word to describe the event. You can’t really make that call if you haven’t been to one recently, and if you have, then okay. Brian is working on creating the event right now, and a friend of his should be talking to Corner about the scheduling of events. And before anyone makes any accusations, Brian recently had a baby, so he has more on his mind, and can’t take too many things at once, so that’s why his friend might be taking care of it, and not him. Hopefully, this will be resolved and we can see a good response.
