Well, Rose can do…normals. Actually I think you did fine with Akuma last night, I should have drilled your focuses though. And doing random ultra > dying to chip damage from the dropped combo hurricane kick I knew was coming
Balrog has a fireball? Well, I think Jon’s going to have to reevaluate here.
If Roskistrike read Dustloop with any frequency, he’d know about gatherings :bgrin:
aaaand Sam didn’t really get into AH lol but maybe he and more of you will when the new one comes out. Why do you guys only get hyped about games that are terrible like TVC lol
Cept they don’t sux. I know how trying to convince you of stuff works, so I’ll just say this; The arcade characters are all pretty good, and definitely tournament viable. It just doesn’t seem like they put any serious thought into the console exclusives when they were putting them together.
Also, good shit leaving Zangief and Viper off that list.
I’ve been wondering this for a while lol. Good games come out and nobody touches them, but the fact that SBX got played at all makes my head ache to this day.
Just because a game is terrible doesn’t mean its not fun. Look at HNK. Besides we were hype about that game before all the broken stuff was found (which we all knew was coming but still…)
Also don’t act like you didn’t mess around in SBX. I don’t care if it was less than 5 minutes.
Also for anybody keeping up with Blazblue supposedly there’s a Boss Rachel. Not just a Boss Ragna. Unfortunately there’s no images or videos yet.
On another note, I would love to play Arcana Heart 2, but I won’t be able to afford it. -_-
If someone is losing to repeated jabs and/or fireball traps in SFIV, then you’re doing something wrong. This doesn’t really point to a fundamental problem with the game.
You fight Boss Rachel when you play through with v-13. Dunno all the specifics, but for starters, her frog doesn’t go away after it goes off the first time.
Well, when they start showing up at the top of major tournaments maybe…
I don’t have the game, know the game, or even like the game but doesn’t the Japanese matchup list basically say that Gief loses to the top 3 (Sagat, Seth, Balrog) for free?
Isn’t Zangief is considered higher up mostly because he mops a bunch of lower tier characters?
So if you beat a bunch of shitty characters that no top player will ever use at the highest level of tournament play, but lose for free to most of the top characters (who you’ll see most often at the highest levels), then that doesn’t really make you better off than anyone else, does it?
That’s kind of why people believe the game is balanced because so many of the boring, generic, and stripped-down mid-tier characters go 5-5 against each other and people assume the game must be balanced rather than boring, generic, and stripped-down.
Also, good shit taking me seriously at what was obviously a joke.

ah sbx was fun for a short while, but fist will live on forever
Austin, I agree, but people here were all over HNK/SBX/TVC and yes NGBC yet proven games like AH and MB had no attention at all except from like half of the GG players. I guess the obvious answer is BOO LITTLE GIRLZ but well that’s kinda lame. Aforementioned games have more of the new school offense/loop/GG playstyle and that turns a good number of guys off, but still man, I manage to play all of said games just fine and you guys know how I play games.
Yeah I do ok with Akuma, it’s not like I’m dropping him, I just wanna try all my options before I say THIS DUDES MAH CHARACTER YO. I can’t say I particularly like any character the most so I figure I’ll just learn everyone who interests me and give them some play time and then decide.
Besides Akuma is frustrating when you get hit, lol.
That matchup chart is from a wiki, so anyone can edit it at any time. I wouldn’t take it very seriously.
Also, Balrog sure as hell ain’t top 3, though I actually do think Seth might be. And Gief-Rog is more or less even.
And a Viper placed top 8 at Japanese nationals (taking out Mago’s Sagat in the process), and a couple other ones also did well. Hell, Kindevu dropped Rufus for her very recently. She’s a hard character in a game full of brain-dead ones, so it’s taken time for her to develop, but she seems to be getting there now. Some of the best mixup in the game, and great damage potential if you can do feint cancels and all the specific combos into ultra.
And Gouken seems pretty good to me but I will admit to not playing as or against him very much at all. The way he kinda shits on fireballs is what stands out in my mind…
I know they never worked in 3S that was my point. I’m just saying that people who started with 3S seem to oversimplify a lot of things in SFIV, like fireball traps, cause they never had to deal with it.
