Ok so I was finally able to find a ride to Lucky’s tomorrow, but if I can’t find a ride back then I’m fucked. So if ANYONE is willing or able to take me home whenever it’s over or w/e they want to I would REALLY appreciate it.

Without having played Fei Long heavily in SF4, he’s a hi-lo character, always has been. You hide either his overhead or a low hit near the start of a combo, then get your damage off of the 50/50.
That having been said, I lost online to a Fei Long with a bizarre ultra setup. I wish I remember what he did. It was some kind of counterhit that launched me into the air, then he comboed into the ultra just before I hit the ground.
Jim, the problem is that Fei’s flying kick special is no longer an overhead in SF4. He CAN combo off of the F+MK overhead, but they have to be crouching and it’s really hard. The flying kick can also still cross up, which is neat. Overall though, he doesn’t have much going for him other than his Focus being stupid good.

Have you tried it yet? Reversal Ultras are a snap as long as you are familiar with the opponents ultra animation. You have to know when to do it. I don’t think we’re talking about the same thing. Because I’m not sure what the game not accepting inputs at the start, have to do with reversal Ultra anway. I always do them near the end of the black screen animation. Works everytime.

Are we talking reversal super or reversal ultra? There is a rather large difference between the two, in most cases. For example, you can always jump out of Ultra Demon if you’re grounded, but that’s not the case with the super, which is zero frames after the flash; if you’re next to him and not already moving, you’re grabbed. It’s moot, as Akuma is never gonna have that meter to begin with most of the time due to his EXes being the shit along with super demon doing like no damage, but that’s simply an example of the differences.

Err I meant like say, you know the opponent is going to attack so you try to reverse it with the ultra. If they try to attack and you get the screen freeze, they can press the button and just say “oh well nvm I’ll just block” and they don’t have to worry about being hit. You’d have to wait for their attack animation to start, then hit ultra, which is a lot harder.
I noticed people still move during a super freeze though, like I doesn’t actually freeze them during the screen freeze, they just move slower. That’s interesting about the super demon, and while not the best move ever, I’m sure that will come in handy in some clutch situations. Jump in demon? lol
I wonder if LK tatsu reset with LP into super demon works? I know they can jump away off of the ultra version.
6MK needs to be counter hit in order to combo it, and I think it’s like a 1 or 2 frame link, it’s pretty tough. The other low he can combo off of, he has to be in throw range to be able to combo it, so usually mix up into combo isn’t an option. I think he he could special cancel 2MK and combo off of normal hit 6MK he’d be fine actually.
Wait they comboed into the ultra and got the cutscene without using focus attack? Do you remember what they did? You can do flame kick > ultra but you only get the first and 3rd hit so it does like no damage. People have been searching pretty hard for a way to combo ultra with him actually.

Well, I was talking about when somebody does a super or ultra, doing your ultra as the black screen finishes to counter it. Akuma and Zangief’s super/ultra, I just hold up. It’s a habit from all the previous games. I never tried to counter/reverse those supers/ultras after a black screen with my own ultra.
I was just replying to Alex, because alex said he was curious about blackscreen, and if inputs were accepted during. I was giving an example of what I do that tells me that they are. Doing motions timed in a way that they finish as the black screen finishes. My Ultra always comes out. I mean, I could just block it, then reversal Ultra. But it’s casual, I got nothing to lose if I actually fuck it up.

No idea. They started with anti-air and ended with a full ultra animation, but I can’t figure out how. In training now, the 2 closest looking combos are DP counterhit to ultra and DP, EX focus cancel, dash cancel, ultra, but neither of those gives me the full ultra animation. If I see it again hopefully I’ll be able to make more sense of it.
BTW, Fei’s last combo in hard trial is retarded. None of links by themselves is difficult, but put it all together and it’s an hour+ of hell.

As far as trial mode challenges go, try Gen’s last one on hard. I don’t think I’ll ever take off the title I got from completing it.

haha yeah, trial mode likes to put random LP links in combos to make them harder. If you really want a hard fei combo, try j.MK 2LK 5LP 2MP 2MP super. That’s the one I’ve been working on for hit confirming into super. I was trying to see if I could get good at hit confirming 2MK into super but…nah. He’s not 3S chun li, lol.
I sat down with the ultra today for about 30 minutes working on how to combo it, all I found was how to get 3 hits out of it instead of two. I even tried stuff like trading DP with their hit into ultra…no luck.
Atleast I found some command grab setups though, guess it’s more useful than I thought.
Wassup Doug. You still playing Calibur? How is SC4 anyway. I played around with it but no one is at a competent level around here to give me any real grasp of it.
