I’m in the same boat as brandino. . well actually I just have no real idea how to get to lucky’s on my own and suck at reading while driving. . .Maybe work something out? I’d pay for gas of course. . .
And I got new found hope in Seth. . .except when he gets poked and loses 1/3 of his health. . .
From my experience they are, for Ultras at least. When time runs low, and people get desperate and crank out an ultra/super (or opponents trying to chip-death you when you have low life)… I just counter them with my Ultra(Dan) during black screen so that my input ends as their black screen ends. Done right, it stays black and you start your animation. Supers in this game aren’t like 3S Ken SAIII or CvS2 Sagat lvl3 hot foot/QCBx2+k) There is time between black screen and the supers actually hitting. For the most part, supers in SFIV have start up in comaprison to supers we are used to dealing with on other games.
I haven’t tried to dragon punch or anything else. Only Ultra.
Naw, I decided it from playing everyone with Fei, lol. It’s just seeing his options in a match and seeing how simply blocking completely shuts him down, just like in HD! He can’t combo off of hardly any of his pokes, his overhead doesn’t even give frames, chicken wing isn’t overhead and if they don’t stand still and stay on the ground it’s pretty much useless not to mention DP bait, Rekkas are weak as shit, Flame Kick trades with EVERYTHING and does really low damage so you just end up taking more damage than you did to them trying to anti air. His AA options are really bad actually. Ultra is impossible to land and does weak damage. Command grab is situationally good but not something you can just throw out and they can just jab / throw you out of the start up, so it still doesn’t give him a lot of good mix up options.
Overall, I just don’t see what he has going for him. He’s like medium risk low reward and you can basically treat him like zangeif and win.
Yeah, I was definitely able to crank a super out in front of a point blank ultra multiple times tonight. I’ve also hit buttons a few times at the start of Ultra’s, seen no animation, and then just sat there blocking; it makes me think that inputs may not be accepted at the very start of the freeze.
Yeah I’ve been pressing stuff after a super freeze and then was able to block afterwards, 99% sure it doesn’t register inputs at the start. Kinda makes reversal ultra not very viable.
So when Akuma lands his ultra on Balrog, even if it doesn’t kill him, Balrog yells “MY FIGHT MONEY!”. Raging pickpocket?
Also, doing the time trial where all the guys are invisible and ultimate atomic bustering something that’s not that just looks awesome.
edit: something interesting for us NC players, I saw the computer activate a super while the screen was frozen for an ultra so there is time DURING the freeze where you can move. Like the super freeze happened while I was still in my ultra zoom in. Kinda crazy.
