d+MK has terrible range and a terrible hitbox. f+MK isn’t much better. d+Hp works like shit for anti-air and you have be breathing on your opponent to hit them with it.
Please tell me how dash cancelling is going to help when you can’t get anywhere near Sim, Ryu, Ken, Akuma, or Sagat without eating a fireball, uppercut, or a limb for trying to f+MK. How exactly are you supposed to get anywhere near enough to juggle into Ultra? Also tell me how Abel is supposed to outfight Gief at close range or even mid-range.
If you cancel it, you’re no longer at disadvantage.
Why the hell would you pressure with rekkas? That’s not what they’re for; you combo them, and that’s it.
d+mk has uses as an AA, and it beats stuff up close. Low fierce is shitty AA, yes, but once again, that’s not what it’s for. Use it to combo off of a FADC’d rekka into the ultra. You also have DP grab for AA purposes.
You have the roll to advance with, along with the Sean kick, which is safe on block and breaks focus. Then you can harass to your hearts content.
This is how you win with Abel; THINK. The same way you win with anyone else. Or you can just keep complaining. Whatever works best for you.
I have to agree as well. While there are things I don’t like about the SP, this is a fun game. This is the lost great SNK fighter to me, just with Capcom characters.
I just wish Honda wasn’t as sucky as he is, but he’s probably more tourney worthy now since he doesn’t get raped hard in bad matches anymore.

Too bad his rolls can be thrown, swept, and baited as easily as any other roll. And Crack Shoot won’t clear any Hadouken from long range unless you wait for it travel long enough so they can block or counter it before it connects.
Well then, the problem comes against characters that don’t have to think, just react. Or against good player smart enough to realize that Abel can’t do anything at all without putting himself at a significant risk.

Last time I checked, in fighting games you can move around while people are in the air as to change the positioning as to where they would land in relation to where your character is. Is walking back like that useful in SF4?
Like arstal is saying, you don’t necessarily have to have a dragon punch in order to gain advantage if someone jumps in on you.
It is also important to note that Alex, the character in 3rd strike, is good.
