Dante + assists can do very similar shit, which is why I mentioned that at the end of my post, where I said Dante can do pretty much the same thing. Assists are something that everyone in the game has access to, so it’s not quite analogous to what you’re saying. If I said something like “well, if Zero doesn’t use Hienkyaku ever, his mobility sucks”, then you’d have a valid point. But yeah, if I rush you down with Dante and I have assists backing me, surprise surprise, there’s not a whole lot you can do as Zero. It works both ways. When you bring up something about a character being able to deal with something specific that another character does, we want to focus on the character’s abilities first, not character + assists. I know that not every character benefits equally from the same assist, but in this case, I don’t think that applies.
:wonder: Meh, here’s the Jill & X-23 combo I put together earlier (well, at least I hope I made it up):
Pretty easy to land but… RAWR :wasted: 5 meters. Like I mention in the video, I can do more damage by adding more crap with X-23 before the Silent Kill and instead only use 4 meters but, meh, it’s easier this way. Anyways, Jill is too much fun… dood.
Yea I wouldn’t doubt it that i’ve asked before but in my head I know it’s just a totally unheard of concept of people playing anything Super 4 related that i’m sure I forgot like it’s just one of those things you start to really believe even if it’s not true.
mmkk that works. Thanks
yeah i plan on going to EZ tomorrow, ill PM you about picking you up
So apparently I’m riding with Kris (Lexity), we’ll probably show up around 6:30 or so.
I believe there are people who meet at Norm’s on Friday.
For Saturday, PM Darklightjg1 since we meet up on the Scott Hall dorm and I don’t know what time we’re starting.

Can’t make it to EZ tonight…but am planning on being there nex friday
Chun vs Yun is 5/5 and has been for about 6 or 7 years. A long ass time ago people thought it was 7/3 Yun but that was because they couldn’t block Genei Jin and didn’t maximize damage when they hit Yun.
For reference: Here is the most up to date Japanese 3s tier list.
I’m not sure, Zero can vary what he does with the assist if we’re talking about during block strings a little more than dante. Dante has teleport and bold move > air dash but Zero has the 3 versions of hienkyaku on the ground, 3 in the air, instant overhead, and multi hit varying cross up options.
This is all assuming you did like block string > assist into mixups. But yes, every character can use assists to increase their pressure and mixup, some just have more tools to work with afterwards.
Call assist -> teleport is only the first stage of the mixup, he has a three-way mixup after the teleport if you manage to switch your guard properly (high/low/crossup). With certain assists, I can alter the timing of the teleport to where if I teleport early, no crossup, but if I teleport late, crossup, plus I still have my three way after teleport even if you block properly. Bold Move has a self contained mixup with no assist if you don’t pushblock him before Bold Move (crossup/no crossup).
Oh yeah, Zero has instant overhead, Dante has instant Hammer, which is invincible, +20 and also has a self-contained high-low mixup.
Seriously, Dante has just as much mixup potential as Zero, it’s just nobody’s seeing it yet because no one is blocking properly. Everyone either pushblocks immediately or they get hit because they were swinging.
To anyone coming to the EZ session tonight in Fayetteville I’ll just warn you that there is some slight rain, nothing serious since the wind is only 8MPH but just felt like I should warn y’all. Make sure to bring extra systems, games, sticks, etc. if you can. I’ll be there around 6:30.
RE: Dante vs Zero
There are a lot of points you can bring up to sway the match up into either characters favor, in a situation like that wouldn’t it be safe to say that the match up is even?
I guess time will tell. Dante seems a lot less confusing than Zero to me when it comes to blocking him, I guess dante is a lot less visually confusing.
Btw question, what’s a solid BNB you’re using with dante on ground hit? Also if you anti air someone, what are you doing? I kinda want to improve the one I’m doing now, preferably to push it above 800k. (still working on acid rain loops but is there anything else that gets it that high?)
Every time I sit down to improve my Dante / Ammy, I end up just working on Zero shit lol.
The easiest BnB on a ground hit is the one I posted before in the Dante threads, it doesn’t break 800k but with a DHC you should be able to do enough to KO most <1 million health characters. Dante can also DHC trick for increased damage, and in fact there was another way found for him to do it at the end of his combos, which not only makes it easier to land (less position-specific), but does more damage, although it’s a little harder because you have to be able to execute Crazy Dance consistently.
I was messing with mid-air hits and I found that you can basically do the same/similar combo that you do off of Hammer, for pretty much the same damage. So say you hit s.M-s.H on a midair opponent, cancel to Volcano and continue as normal, you can’t do Prop Shredder stuff but you get enough damage.
Acid Rain is character specific enough that I don’t recommend doing it outside of the corner. Save Acid Rain loops for the corner, you should be able to break 800k every time that way.
TRUTH
Also, is anyone savvy on how to purchase a capture device? Or rather, whats a good one to look into? I really would like to start making combo vids or strategy vids for certain games. Ive got all this WWE All-Stars stuff ive worked up and a slew of MK combos that I havent seen noted ANYWHERE that I would like to put out there.
Sup guys. I?m new to Shoryuken but I?ve always been into fighting games. The people I usually played with seem to no longer play, so I?m looking for some people to play with. I live/work in Wilmington but I?m from Fayetteville, and I went to school in Chapel Hill so I spend a great deal of time these places as well. I?ve been playing a lot of BB:CS and MvC3 lately but I?m really, really doodoo at both (at all fighting games really, but I still have fun with it). I?m up for playing anything though!
As I mentioned earlier, slight edge to Dante, only because it’s easier for Dante to kill Zero than it is for Zero to kill Dante.
Sup guys, will probably be at Elite today around 7ish, going to bring another TV…we picked it up last night…and heard something pop…hope it still works:sweat:
As for game of choice, I don’t think it should be an issue. there are some extra TVs stored in the back and you are welcome to bring your system and game to come play…just make the request to me, and we can work something out, especially for out of towners. The issue is we have to provide the games, and I don’t own a copy of GG, Melty, Arcana, KOF, or Blazblue.
I seen in the forums talk about running a tournament…I’ll work out a date, the best date for me would be 21st, so I’ll be aiming for that, i’m still encouraging some of the veteran out of towners to come, their input would be appreciated.
Another thing…if you are under 18 yet at least close to being 18 and plan to stay in the later hours…if asked say your 18 and be respectful…otherwise you will have to leave.
