RenoROB

no joke! What happened to this thread?

any chance of someone uploading tomo teaches HF on youtube please. i can’t find it anywhere

^-- In the worst case scenario, I should have Tomo Teaches back up in a couple weeks. Now that I have more space to play with, I’m sloooooowly reuploading everything. And I pretty much mean everything.

That would be great, cause i cannot find it at the hub.

Back up under the Request section.

Thanks for the repost, I had lost this video when I reformatted my pc…anyways, will there be anymore stories from the OG SF2 players anymore? I would love to hear more from this great time…btw, like I stated earlier, I would love to hear detailed stories, like what where you thinking during that much, or what you felt you had to do to win, or what happened that made you win or lose.

I want to hear more, and I quite honestly can’t get enough of it. Btw, to Jeff or anyone else…what has become of those dvd’s with Tomo and the such with HSF2:AE…have they been scrapped or what? Just wondering, since if they are still going to happen, I really can’t wait to see it.

Thanks alot Preppy, downloading now.

1st test - 10.8 (2 runs)
2nd test - Average 0.192 best 0.151 (2 runs)
3rd test - 42 clicks (1 run)

How am i supposed to know if this is good or not?

yeah, what happened to that? it’s a hella cool idea. Jeff, if u read this at least let us know if it’s gonna happen or not :wgrin:

1st test - 9.5 (2 runs)
2nd test - Average 0.124 best 0.133 (2 runs)
3rd test - 51 clicks (1 run)

0.200 is considered average; Decoy, that is a very amazing reaction time, especially for a 34 year old, but how is it that your average is higher than your best?

I only tried the 1st and second test

1st Test 9.8 seconds (second run…damn I’m slow)
2nd Test 0.167 my best was 0.142 (damn…slow again)

Sigh…so I’m average…

Anyways, I’m still wondering about them videos, and more stories to tell :wgrin:

Why the hell is this thread not stickied by now?

Yeh decoy, how come your average is better than your Best? Mmmmmmm…did you FOLD up typing your results on your keyboard just as you do in HF…lolol

Apparantly I’m not a good liar. lol I was just trying to show OSKI H up. HAHA My reaction time was pretty good and not far off from what I posted. I just fudged the numbers.

If it’s dick measuring time, I tested .156 as my fastest a few months ago. I did that test and got .187 a ton. I guess i’m consistent atleast.

Anything faster than 200 milliseconds is above average for simple stimuli

Alright guys. I’m bringing this thread back because it is a MUST!

I read through this whole goddamn thing trying to find a link to download the Tomo teaches hyper fighting thread and everytime…nothing. There’s gotta be an easier way than this. This is the biggest cock tease ever for any hardcore O.G Street Fighter enthusiasts. Put it on Youtube for Christ’s Sake.

A little about my history of the game. I’m currently 27 years old and I’ve played since Street Fighter 2…even a few Street Fighter I games. I was probably about 10 years old. Street Fighter was HUGE back then. It was fucking HUGE. Not only was Street Fighter the BEST fighiting game, it was the BEST game period. Now that I think about it, Street Fighter rocket boosted the gaming industry 10-fold. Which is probably why Tomo is such an Icon. I’ve heard of him, but never met or played him. He was definitely HEARD of during those times. We’re talking about waaaay before the internet days here. Everything was word of mouth.

Much like most of you guys, I played through CE and then HF. I can see why you guys, like myself stopped after Hyper Fighting. Honestly, every Street Fighter game after Hyper Fighting sucked DICK! SUCKED DICK Big time.

Hyper Fighting is the most balanced Street Fighter Game period! It might very well be the most balanced fighting game. I see you guys try to come up with a Tier List for this game and to be honest, the tier list is pointless. It only indicates what characters most people like to play. If you are super good with any character in this game, you can go toe to toe against any character. It’s just a matter of adjusting and playing precisely. Every fucken character is good in this game. It’s just a matter of how good YOU are with that character.

Now you have some weak sauce unbalanced Super Street Fighter 2, which is suppose to replace hyper fighting??? No wonder everyone fucking quit after hyper fighting. The game sucks ass. Just hearing the music and sounds from the game makes me yawn. The skill level and knowledge required to be a top player in Hyper is way more advanced than ST.

Norm who just beat Justin Wong for first place in ST at the recent Cal Poly Tournament was BREEEEZING through ST. He whomped on everyone with ease.

In the meantime, he was going back and forth with me in Hyper Fighting. I can assure you he wasn’t breezing through HF like he was on ST. The real O.G gamers know that Hyper Fighting is #1!!!

In regards to Tomo, every hardcore enthusiasts wants to get a glimpse of how he played. Things have changed. We have gotten older. We have an older and more mature analytical perspective on things. You can tell how good someone is just by how he thinks… how he adjusts… how he reacts… how smooth and calm his execution is. I can recognize in a heartbeat the difference between a good player and a dominant player. A dominant player will not play the same way as a good player. Rusty or not. I would like to have the priviledge to see what made Tomo, the legend, different from the rest. Even a few rusty games can give a clear indication of greatness to those who know the game well.

. I didn’t play Hyper Fighting for a loooooooong asssss time when I was at the recent Cal Poly tourny and yes it does seem goddamn slow compared to AE. So I can see why Tomo felt AE was a bit too fast.

People just want to see Tomo play. He is a legend, like Michael Jordan. No one expects him to be at the top of his game. Anyone that plays street fighter seriously knows that you’re gonna be rusty if you don’t practice. However, you will never forget how to play Street Fighter. It’s like riding a bike. Your timing, execution, reaction might be off, but you NEVER forget how to play. I was rusty as hell when I was at the Cal Poly Tournament (too bad the tourny wasn’t for HF). But after 10-15 games, you start to get that old FEELING back again you know what I’m saying? The same feeling we all had 10 years ago… when we were young and competitive. It’s a great feeling that can’t be replaced by any of the new bullshit fighting games these days. The thought going through my mind was, “Damn, Hyper Fighting is the BEST Street Fighter EVER. The new kids these days don’t know shit about Street Fighter until they play Hyper.”

As you can see, I am a fan of the game. So please make those Tomo vids more accessible… please

And if Tomo shows up to any Arcade to play, please let us know. The new guys want old blood…yes that’s true because everyone’s gotten alot better with more free practice thanks to AE. But a legend will alway be a legend. MJ > Kobe :). I would love to pick his brain.

P.S Hyper Fighting Ken allll the waaaaay suckaaas!

Ken

It would be really great to see some vids of the man himself in action. The only video I’ve ever seen of him was that cheesy 90’s tutorial video with the stereotyped voices for every character, and even in that one all he did was pretend to play.

Honestly, not one of you guys has footage of Tomo teaches Hyper fighting?
