Not even close.Everyone tries to relate every 3-D fighter to VF but the action DOA makes VF look like Checkers. DOA is horribly broken, but so fun and entertaining.Nothing like VF.I never kicked a bitch down the steps in VF.VF is less broken with the most boring characters on the planet! how ever the gameplay and graphics are pretty good.Kumite mode is awesome.Tekken kinda stole the idea but Tekken’s version sucks.
Well, they’re both black female capoeira hos. There are some pretty definite similarities, though. But there’re lots of capoeira fighters in fighting games. The only one who has capoeira-ish moves that make no sense are that cowboy from KOF MI.
Cuz I pretty clearly implied that it was a stupid view.
So yeah. You get a serious thumbs down.
Well, guess thats reason enough.
Said it once, I’ll say it one last time.
No one takes spudlyff8fan seriously.
I’m actually referring to my impression when I first played DOA. After running through a few characters, I couldn’t help but have a “Deja Vu” moment, but I saw VF.
I’ll admit that DOA has evolved down another path, or flight of stairs, as you so kindly brought to my attention.
Seriously, though, Bass is fun. Really fun to play with…no homo.
But…they both have defend buttons.
And I’d like to go on record as pointing out that La Mariposa isn’t a Christie ripoff. Not because I like either character, but because Christie (basically Eddie) was actually motion captured from Mestre Suassuna and is meant to be as authentic to a true capoeirista’s movements as possible. La Mariposa is an amalgamation of Capoeira and Luchadore style wrestling…and her Capoeira is mostly just present in a few of her flashier movements…and it’s bad…but she has a cool Armada Dupla animation. =) La Mariposa is like all DOA character, they’re “based on” certain things, but in no way do they try to portray them as authentic. Over-stylized is usually their goal.
Yes, I am (more like was) a Capoeirista. However, I never liked playing as Eddie/Christie or La Mariposa. =)
Shrug
you must use alot of grapplers when playing fighters.
I was talking about the evade move, where you aren’t actually gaurding, but setting up a counter. Not sure what the button is actually called.
Oh yes. Love the grappling. Zangief, Birdie, Wolf, Jeffrey, King, Nina, Jax…what can I say, throw animations are always on my eye candy list. UFC on DC was sooooooo sweet.
King and Nina’s chain throws are so good. When watching some upper level Nina Tekken 5:DR, I noticed a lot of throw escapes. Did they make throw escapes easier, or are throws just less effective on upper level play?
DOA is broken?
That’s new to me. Quite.
– surewhyyoucan, are you talking about the free button?
seems this thread has turned into a joke
it didn’t have far to fall from the beginning
im surprised its still alive:confused:
I realize how I don’t know anything about DOA4: to me Mariposa evokes him

…yeah I may be in need of some help (but I don’t think DOA is “help” though)
o.O
When’d you say that?
O Rly?!!
Can you tell me whats broken please kthx.
the counter system!
do you even play the game enough to have a decent opinion?
yes.It was my first game for 360.I’ve been playin it ever since.I can win a whole match without even attacking and in shorter time then if I did actaully attack.I love DOA, it’s a good game.I’m just tired of playing online and not actually fighting people becuase the counter every move. Not to mention the massive damge it takes out.
Well isn’t Perfect Legend like the current world champ of DOA? I’m guessing he has a more valid say in the matter.
