Don’t get me wrong…i love the new assassins (that i’ve fought thus far). My only gripe with them however is that they don’t have as much personality compared to the others. It’s like i dunno what i’m working towards. I fight a few rounds of baddies, fight the boss, and THEN find out what their name was and what they were all about. And when we do learn their name, it something simple. I loved the nicknames…Matt Helms could have just as easily been called “Baby Face” or something and it would have instantly made him 100x more creepy. This is why i think those intros should have remained. Though tiny, in that one second we were introduced to THE NAME of the fighter, and a small sentence that pretty much summed showed “hey, this is who i am, now fuck off”.
Regardless, i still love this game. Best series currently on the wii.
Sylvia left Santa Destroy after dropping Travis back off at his apartment
The way I figured was that killing batt also killed his company, which was the lifeblood of Santa Destroy and probably the UAA.
Whether as a result of the end of Pizza Batt or Travis or Sylvia’s actions after the credits, I think we can assume the UAA has been dissolved since Sylvia is out of a job and is now working in a private show booth at a strip club instead.
Travis tracks her down and is her client listening to her story throughout the game. On the day the place closes he reveals who he is to her and takes her back to Santa Destroy. Which is probably a shithole again with the absence of pizza butt [/details]
I’m not sure if this is accurate or not, but I like the conclusion I came to. If I’m right then this ending was alot more conclusive than the first game
and I ended up enjoying the last boss more after I figured out what to do. I enjoyed Jeane more from the first game(although she was attached to a big reveal so it’s kind of unfair), but Batt wasn’t bad by any means imo.
Anyways great game. personally I am completely satisfied with the product. Worth the wait

[details=Spoiler]I know that Sylvia is rather batshit crazy with the multiple personalities and all, and Travis is kinda out there too, but I don’t think he should’ve went through all the trouble of tracking her down again knowing good and well she’s probably going to fuck him over again somehow, lol. She slept with him in the first game while being married to his brother, and though it’s not disclosed why she left him in this game, my guess is that it had to do with him being frozen in the carbonite or whatever and not being able to bring cashflow in for her anymore.
We get disclosure for what happens between him and Sylvia… but what about Shinobu?! She just disappears after Travis just nudges her off. YOU MAD TRAVIS!!!
stupid gripe, I know, but it would be nice to know what happens to Shinobu. She was just kinda shoved out of the story as soon as you were done playing as her. Cute chick who travels the globe and accomplishes something awesome to prove her worth > crazy girl with multiple personalities who’ll rob you blind, lie to you, and manipulate you at any given second lol[/details]
yeah you could fight her in the main game and thats also how you get access to the revenge missions.
After rank fight 24, leave the hotel and do some of the side jobs, go back to the hotel and you should see a fax in your room about the revenge missions and fighting lower ranked people.
Part of the reason why the villains weren’t as characterized is due to the theme of No More Heroes 2. At first, Travis doesn’t give a shit and wants to zip by the ranks for revenge. As he fights, he is reacquainted with good matches and shows more respect for those he fights. Towards the last fights, he has a bad aftertaste after killing his opponents without learning more of them (the same bad aftertaste the player feels). This is especially shown in his fights with Ryuji, Margaret, Captain Vladimir, and Alice. Especially after the fight with Alice, Travis recognizes that all of the assassins are people with history, dreams, and are real. He then gains resolve in dissolving Pizza Bat Corporation and the UAA. During his visits with Sylvia in the booth, he let’s her talk about Travis’ ranking matches before he speaks up to bring her back. Travis wanted to know more about those he fought. I find it pretty clever of Suda to characterize in this fashion but it’ll be nice to have it more like in NMH1 in the next game. I haven’t played NMH1 and only spoilered myself using Youtube to catch up then played NMH2 through and through. Looking forward to No More Heroes Paradise for PS3 enjoy the experience. In before “because of Very Sweet mode”.
Being semi farther in the game now (Just got done killing Captain Vladamir) I’m slowly retracting my statement earlier about unmemorable characters, and i see exactly what you’re talking about. As soon as the game entered the top 10, it began getting it’s groove back pursay. And what you say about him initially not caring makes alot of sense in that he is originally pissed at Henry when he repays Travis by uping him even higher in the ranks. Those were kills Travis wanted to do himself, maybe in hopes of meeting a true challenge. Had that happened earlier in the game, i don’t think Travis would have given a fuck only because it was moving him closer to his goal. Instead, he is starting to get that rush back that he got in the first game.
This being said, these top assassin’s are pretty amazing. Margaret has probably got to be my favorite fight in the game. Though the challenge wasn’t necessarily there once you figure out her pattern, everything about her screams NO MORE HEROES. Her design, Those weapons, the music, and the fight towards her all have been my favorite parts thus far. I cannot get that reaper, reaper song out of my head. I’m just looking forward to how this game concludes. Next up, Aliiiiiiiiiiice Moooonlight No. 2.

^ very interesting. Im replaying the game and I’m almost back at Alice. Im goning have to pay close attention to that scene. Feb 1st is almost here, cant wait for Nemo to put back up the art. Im dying for some alice and chloe goodness.
