I’m confused on what was said in the build up and what was revealed that leaves much to be desired. What did they lie about? That you could take 100 hours to reach the center of the galaxy?

From what I’ve read and what I’ve seen, it’s starting to look like you may be right. I’ve read some threads on Reddit and people’s expectations are extremely high. The patch seems to fix more bugs/exploits than anything. I’ve tempered my expectations a bit so that I don’t get hit with a huge letdown.
I don’t really care about this game, since I’m not a fan of space shooters anyways, but the “quintillion planets” selling point pissed me off since day one.
Randomly generated environment should not be a selling point. The Diablo series had randomly generated dungeons 20 years ago and nobody gave a shit. I don’t know why people tripping over that shit. All it tells me is that instead of getting depth and a carefully planned galaxy, were getting shallow, formula generated, environments. Yes, none will look the same, but at the same time, none will leave an impression and the novelty will leave after the first experience.
Anyways, for those who have been waiting like crazy for this game, hope it’s good and you get your money’s worth.

This is a good example of why people shouldn’t speak on this game before they research it. This specifically, has already been shown to not be true. There’s already dozens of hours of gameplay (not to mention any one of the trailers or gameplay Hello Games did) that show varied and interesting terrain.

So I’ve got a Win10 64bit AMD Phenom II X4 3.2Ghz, 12gig ram with an old ass Radeon HD 4800 graphics card. Brilliant for mame emulators but what are my chances of me having fun playing this game on my system?

does this game require decent internet to play? the only available internet in my area is abysmal for online gaming.

That’s a good question actually. I know all the planets are server side but uses math to create them. So the back and forth may not be as persistent constantly as say an online fighter. Best bet would be to wait a few days and see what folks on the internet say.
