Thank you for this.

This was actually a hilarious reminder of how embarrassing hype culture makes the gaming community look. A lot of kids are getting refunds for the digital copies, but you can’t do that so easily with a physical sale lol.

I mean it’s one thing if you’ve barely played it and you’re having consistent technical issues, but people are insane and will never learn to stay out of hype culture.

What if it sucks?

If you can buy food and get your money back you should be able to get you money back for a shit game. Technically.

Im not a cheap bum but, I couldnt imagine how it feels to purchase a full price game and feel gipped.

Really? Youve never purchased a game and thought “Man this isnt as good as iIhad hoped it would be.”?

I have a hard time believing that.

NEVER.

Actually to give you a little backstory, I was a kid when blockbuster was a thing. And we also had a local gameshop called “Players Choice” here in North Carolina where even more uncommon/unpopular games could be rented. So I rented games until I was about 16 then Blockbuster went out of business and I got into modchips, to put it lightly.

By this time DSL was the new thing and I frequently watched videos of games before purchase. By college I would just watch youtube or see what scores games got on Gametrailers.

Not to mention I was only into fighting games and action rpg/hack n slash. Those genres were really hard to disappoint back then.

I think when Asuras Wrath came out I was like meh, this game is super short. The 2-3 minute chapters was a little obnoxious but I still found it entertaining.

I think the Twisted Metal remake was kinda lackluster. But, nah Ive never purchased a game and said “shit, this doesnt feel too good”

Lucky me.

Sony is also accepting refund requests for No Man’s Sky

GG WP Hello Games

This is 100% true. lmao. Jesus Christ.

edit:
What do you find at the center of the universe in No Man’s Sky?

A refund. #NoMansSky

Asuras Wrath was godlike until the dlc extra endings ruined everythinf. Shouldve been left open or made into a sequel

Although I’m all about proper punishment for a bunch of developers that were too greedy even for EA, getting a refund after 10+ hours of play is as stupid and low as it gets, and it could set a very bad precedent in the gaming industry. Just imagine how many restaurants would be on business if it were legit to eat an entire pizza and then get a full refund for it arguing that “taste was so bad it was uneatable”.

That said, I’m more mad about the gaming media that hyped this game to the skies before launch just as lots of other crap out there. Have they ever being sued on the grounds of delivering blatantly false info or even for being colluded with the publishers?

Wow. I first saw that meme with The Order 1886 a year or two ago, and it’s somehow still funny. That shit’s all over youtube if you just search “shocking interview with [whatever developer]”.
