It took me a long time to understand Hino-enma, but finally learned to just ran straight back when she tried to rush me.
I thought the frog was a really fun fight. That whole area is my favorite so far as well.
His grapple move is bullshit tho.
id be a little less annoyed if his boss run didn’t make me open secret doors and fight a random mook to get to him. seriously is that a glitch cause im pretty sure destroying that green crystal should have stopped the resurrection spell for any ninja around it.
I like how they mix the enemies up in NG+ instead of just giving them a stat increase. My summon just got one shot though. 
Frog was waaay easy for me, I beat him on my second attempt. If you’re a ninja you can use Blinding Shells to prevent him from using any items. Otherwise just stick close and just wail on him in the second phase. I don’t really have any better tips than that, I didn’t have much trouble on him

got myself a WICKED sword. I think i might have to use one of them books of reincarnations now and try this thing out.

Well I haven’t beat him quite yet, but I pretty much got the frog figured out.
I’d gotten so used to dodging everything in low stance that i had forgotten it’s not great for blocking so switched to medium. That combined with the ki pulse buff where you can block one hit for free I’m finally able to deal with his jump attack which was really fucking me over because I STILL can’t tell where the hit box on that is.
Edit: ok that was still one of the hardest fights i had in this game. even after finding those tricks out it i still died 20 times the time before i beat him. i don’t know for some reason the girls and muneshige were no problem at all but this motherfucker drove me to the brink.
Jump attack is just dodge backwards, away from him. His recovery is so long you can easily attack him after and have time to read his next move. His jump attack made him pretty quick for me

There’s always one boss that will just give people touble but not others, same as with the Souls, Bloodborne, Ninja Gaiden etc. I always find it interesting to see which bosses wreck others or what other people find easy vs my own opinions on them.
I’m on Umi-Bozu now. I got fucked up the first two times I tried to fight him, shit was sad.
I swear every video I see of people beating bosses they’re using axe/mace --> high stance.
Edit: the only game where I found every single boss to be a pushover was Bloodborne. Demon’s and DS1-3 all had at least a couple of bosses that give me trouble. Nioh it seems like every 3rd or 4th boss is fucking me up.
It’s just so strong right now, it doesn’t surprise me
I remember when ds3 was still fresh and i remember talking to Gasa about how much i loved the great machete because i was wrecking with it. Sounding slightly annoyed… My good friend Gasa told me that i should try playing the game with a dex weapon or something. That kinda never happened tho
