Nintendo 3DS - Best Handheld Today

I loved it.

Harmoknight is good too. It’s a rhythm based side scroller.

Gunman Clive always looked interesting to me, but for some reason never bought it. Not sure why, as it’s dirt cheap.

Gunman Clive is probably one of the best games to come out of the eShop. I can’t recommend it enough.

I’ll probably pick it up then. Thanks.

I’m pretty sure it was @“Kinniku Buster” but whoever marked disagree on my post, go take it off…

Backbone Entertainment is responsible for some extremely shitty ports, so my comment about MM Collection being half-assed is right on the money, seeing as how Capcpom was too lazy to port the games themselves or at least make sure it was done right.

I don’t care if a game is multi platform as more often than not I’d rather play it on a handheld, PSV is getting a ton of games I’m looking forward to it 2016 and I already own like 50+ games for it while I probably own less than 15 games for 3DS.

FFE
MHX (my first MH game)
Ace Attorney 6
Sonic Boom Fire and Ice (maybe)
Azure Striker: Gunvolt 2 (maybe as RB demo of the first one was wry underwhelming)

Not a terrible 2016 lineup, but not super impressive either, hopefully there’ll be a few more surprises.

EDIT: Well this doesn’t inspire confidence:

I was so hype for Azure Striker 1 when it was first announced expecting classic MMX or MMZ style game play, but the lightning mechanic instead of being able to outright kill enemies and especially the inability of the enemies to actual fight back or present any real challenge just really disappointed me.

Would those of you who bought it advise others to buy it? I don’t want to judge an entire game based on it’s demo.

Buy the Steam version as it is accepted as the definitive, if you want challenge either play speed run mode (Steam only) or take off the Pendent so you can’t avoid damage.

Not sure what they mean about having an actual happy ending if they got the real ending and not the fake one.

It’s not Megaman, it’s a different beast and its focus is really on speed and/or score. If you want something with the survival difficulty of their past games you can skip it because its focus isn’t on that.

It was me and I stand by it. Capcom is usually great when it comes to ports they do themselves. The work they put into the Resident Evil remasters, HD port of the first Revelations and the recent PC port of Dragon’s Dogma is phenomenal.

So yeah, about that Disagree…

Did a disagree hurt your feelings or something? Get over it.

Great the DBZ thread virus has claimed another thread.

Look, I know this whole “Po said it, so I must be against it” thing is popular around here, but when you are wrong about something, it’s usually good form to admit it and back down.

I said, “Capcpom probably half-assed the Mega Man Legacy Collection”, @Hawkingbird hit Disagree, as is the knee-jerk reaction whenever I shit on stupid ass Capcpom, I was proven right not two posts later when @Femto confirmed that BACKBONE ENTERTAINMENT, not Capcpom was responsible for the ports of Mega Man Legacy Collection, a collection that has already received complaints of input lag on the “next gen” ports.

That sounds like a half-assed job to me.

At this point, I don’t really care about the damn “disagree”, but rather the ignorant and blind fanboy hate I get anytime I point out how obviously lazy and terrible modern Capcpom is compared to old-school Capcom.

I didn’t see @Femto post of the port being done by Backbone when I hit the button. When Capcom is involve in something your first reaction is to brutally bury them. Anyways, I’ll back the disagree in light of the Backbone development. You win this one.

You’re wrong on a constant basis and never admit it. You just stop posting in that thread for X amount of time until it passes and then start posting bullshit again.

Putting things in caps and bold doesn’t make you right. It just makes you look fucking stupid.

My first complaint so far with Paper Jam is that they dumbed down the combat system a ridiculous amount. Its hard to explain all the little things they did if you haven’t played the M&L RPG series since the beginning but it IS HEAVILY watered down. It’s almost insulting.

Plus you get no bonus stat buff when you level which sucks.

Why do I get the feeling that I may regret picking up Paper Jam even though I plan to do so anyway? I can’t go anywhere today at least though…I’m snowed in.

It’s still a fantastic game so far (I’m only about 4 hours into.) just the changes to the combat system are a little disheartening.

So I’m starting to like Paper Jam less and less.
The areas are very bland and you get realllly repetitive missions and quests to do.

It still has a lot of the same charm which I really appreciate but between the tweaking of the battle system and how bland the over world is…this is slowly becoming my least favorite of the M&L RPG series.

I’m only about 7 hours into it though so I really hope it changes for the better.

Spoiler

super star saga > bowsers inside story = dream team > partners in time > paper jam. IMO.

Ranking them is really hard. Honesty all of them but super star saga and paper jam (as of now) can be swapped around.

They’re all amazingly good in their own respects.

There honestly isn’t a single thing i dislike about superstar saga. I loved the beanbean kingdom. I loved all the secondary characters. The locations were very “alive” and vibrant. I loved all the over world abilities and your bro moves that coorisponded with learning said abilities. I preferred the coffee shop bean system in raising stats as opposed to finding a set number of beans in the over world. Plus Fawful is probably my favorite mario villain next to Count Bleck.

The only things I’ve ever disliked about Partners in Time is It also felt a lot more sluggish for some reason. And some of the Bro moves can be over complicated. Partners in Time has a special place in my heart though because of the 1337 Hammer Bros. I don’t think I’ve ever laughed that hard at something I’m a video game. It also probably has the weakest story to me outside of Paper Jam (unless that changes)

Bowsers inside story is pretty much perfect. It’s on par with super star saga for me. I just enjoy some of the over world abilities in Super Star Saga more. same with side quests. I also don’t like the completely stylus based Bowser Minion Attacks.

The only thing I didn’t like about Dream Team is the bro moves as well. Some of them are just inpracticle and not worth learning or using.

So Paper Jam is more of a M&L game than a Paper Mario game? My main interest in it is for Paper Mario. I never played M&L RPG.

It’s M&L RPG style starring Paper Mario characters. The Paper Mario characters provide most the humor in the game. Paper Kamek (the wizard koopa) freaking out about how amazing cardboard is had me laughing for a good minute.

I’m really hoping the back half of the game is you being able to go to and from the Paper Mario world or something.
