I haven’t pre-ordered a game…or even walked into a gamestop in a while, but I pre-ordered Layton vs Ace Attorney. Despite the reception from neogaf, I do still want to get Gunvolt.(And the free NES-styled game)
As for Contra, I gave up years ago. If Konami wants to alienate and fuck up their franchises even more than they already have, then leave me out of it. Otherwise, let Wayfoward handle it.
I loved Bravely Default, so you can bet Bravely Second(:for the sequel/franchise) will be on my list.
Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, I don’t want. I didn’t like Ruby and Sapphire back in the day, so I don’t mind skipping those.
My friend is buying both versions of Smash. Since I only have a 3DS, I have to get the 3DS game for now. I did try both version at Comic-Con. My attempts to win shirts for my Streetpass groups’ raffles were unsuccessful. Though my other friends won plenty of them for that same reason, so I’m satisfied. Anyway, the game plays better than I expected. After all the negativity about the controls, I found them alright overall. The smash attacks were a bit of a problem, but not a big problem. I could see myself playing it for hours on end…unlike Kid Icarus Uprising where I can only play it for 20 minutes at a time at max.
I’m hoping to get my friend into Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate. He had some poor experiences with the games due to our mutual friends not properly helping him and throwing him into completely anti-fun situations. I’m hoping to ease him into the experience of MH4, just like how I was eased into liking MH3. He seems ok with the franchise, so it’s not like he hates it or it isn’t for him. That’s why I’m hoping he’ll get the game so we can play together.
So I have been waiting for dual destinies to go on sale(because j just can’t justify paying full price when they did not release a cartridge version) and having just finished aai2, i have really been getting the itch for more PW. It’s like the universe knew and gave me the sale I wanted because dual destinies just went on sale for 18 bucks.
Soo imported my points card for Azure Striker Gunvolt and since it was only a tenner extra to go from the $30 card I was going to get to a $50 one I bit the bullet, what’s good on the American 3DS store if you’re into RPGs and already own the Etrian Oddysey games, Bravely Default, Fire Emblem and the Shin Megami Tensei games?
Stuff like Code of Princess, Rune Factory 4, Cave Story, Shovel Knight, Kid Icarus: Uprising(no, seriously), Mighty Switch Force, Scribblenauts(http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?p=16184727#post16184727 <- the only reason you need, WHEEEEEEE), LoZ: Link Between Worlds, blah blah blah…
The list goes on.
That thread on the “new” 3DS keeps mentioning something about a possible 3DS port of Xenoblade: Chronicles (and something about it possibly being exclusive to the new 3DS due to the increased CPU), but I don’t recall hearing anything official. Anyone able to confirm/de-confirm this? I’ve wanted to play Xenoblade: Chronicles for a while now and having a 3DS version would be perfect.
I’m going to hold off on pre-ordering the new 3DS until I read more about it. The faster CPU, better 3D, and 2nd stick all sound great, but I want to see the CPU and improved 3D in action. However, I am thrilled if this new CPU means Xenoblade on the 3DS. Which reminds me, shit I need to get on that game. I have it for Wii, but don’t have the time to sink into a game that huge. In the meantime, Layton vs. Wright and Gunvolt are downloading.
Hell no. Now we got a 3DS that will play games that don’t work on other 3DS’s, AND has a name that confuses people. “NEW” 3DS? Did Nintendo not learn ANYTHING from the Wii U naming?
Probably going to skip out like I skipped out on Dsi. Already got dat Xenoblade.
Of course, there will probably be some exclusive that’ll make me change my mind. Hopefully by that time we’ll be near the next system with backwards compatibility.
Yeah Super 3DS would be a better nam, but New 3DS is fine too and I’m happy Nintendo improved it in a lot of way and didn’t go with a lazy cash grab, it seems they really gave us what we wanted and all the extra touches are nice too not sure if I’ll get the XL or regular New 3DS depends on if the former can fit in my pocket or not since both have the same screen size.
Yes this Direct fuckin. rocked  Nintendo finally listened to me and gave me what I want fucking action RPGs not this shitty turn based stuff. Final Fantasy Explorers, Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, and Xenoblade Chronicles all look awesome and I will definitely be buying them unless FFE is multiplayer/online only.
EDIT: If I buy a New 3DS can I transfer my digitally downloaded games from my regular 3DS?
