This shit sounds amazing, fuck 3D glasses.
I do hope they push it graphically this go around, so there’s absolutely nothing to hold them back from curbstomping Apple and Sony. Multitouch like the iPod Touch is a must, too.

im never going to get rid of my DSI, R4 and playing DS games for free is the shit
I thought of something. Assuming the 3D is stereoscopic (making a 3D effect by showing different images to each of your eyes), if it’s going to be touchscreen, hovering a stylus over the screen would ruin the 3D effect. So maybe it’s going to be dual screen again, and the bottom screen is 2D?
I’m just not pleased with flat-panels and how they’ve handled them so far. If I have to do extensive research to make sure my next TV can reproduce colors correctly, doesn’t have blurring/response time problems, doesn’t have input lag when I’m gaming, etc., fine-- but CRT had all but guranteed that out of the box. Now they’re jumping the gun with 3DTV, when there’s room for improvement, and there’s hardly any content to support it.
Maybe electronics companies should allow technology to evolve behind closed doors, instead of selling experiments on the conusmer market.
Just like with apple products, just wait for the second iteration of the Nintendo 3DS. That’ll be the money ticket.
OC
They should have way more money to play with this time around, since the DS was so successfull and the Wii sold so crazy much. So I expect nice graphics.
It’ll be a hard wait.
I expect this thing to cost $250. I think that’s a fair Nintendo-ish price.
give us bluetooth tech please. Wired headsets are for the ancients.
I hope you can turn the rumble feature off. I always thought rumble was lame and distracting.
I can’t wait till it has friend codes and the entire gaming universe collectively groans.
If it has good graphics and feels good in my hands, I might get one, well one when they release the second or third iteration that is way better then the last one. Nintendo has the Apple fever with the handhelds anyway.
Psh, why spend money on nice graphics when they could make more money?
I’ll be taking a wait and see approach, 3D sounds nice and all, but it all depends on the software.
This month’s issue if GI says the new DS will have a tilt function similar to the iphone:lovin:
Also says “the pokemon company getting special attention with it” I guess that’s kinda cool?
That would suck donkey balls friend codes. But we are friends right? I remember you making an av of us being friends. It’d be interesting to see how they treat shit and whether they’ll cater to Japan public more over the Western audience. Then again with selling so fucking much, it probably won’t matter. What I really fucking hope is that if they really want to be able to connect the 3DS with a console, that they are working this shit from the ground up for the next Nintendo console. So they’ll bleed out the wii as fucking long as possible and then bam, release Wii2 or whatever with connectivity capabilities or even controller capabilities.
Really? Just that with the iPad out and coming out so cheap compared to estimates, I’m thinking at least $199. Then again it is new tech so expensive tech.
I heard it could project a mixture of 3 colours!
OC
We are totally still friends. If they have friend codes I will put int he code so we can be coded friends even if friend codes are the goddammed worst.
I forgot about friend codes.
Fuck it.
I don’t want it.
I just brought a dsi…fuck you nintendo…
Arrrrrrrrrrrrrghhhhhh
^ ^ ^
please note you can easily convert any earlier DS model into a 3D one by turning on the power and jamming the stylus really deep into the touchscreen
basically wanted to say what Ki Shima and Infernoman said. Also at this point in time looking back what what Nintendo has done I’m not even going to attempt to doubt what they’ll end up doing with it. ‘2 screens and a touch screen? pah!’ ‘Motion controls? It’ll never catch on!’ lol People should definitely take a wait and see approach with this before jumping to any conclusions.
@ShadowAce
I wouldn’t worry about it too much right now Shadow Ace. Also taking a look back at how the Wii and DS went when they first started out they had to go through an experimental phase before the light bulbs started clicking on. Considering the fact that it’s supposed to be out March 2011 supposedly and I’m gonna guess it’ll be out in the holidays over here during that year…I’d say you can sit on your Dsi for close to 2 years. It’s not like they’re dumping support or anything…the games will still be rolling in.
I’m wondering what Sony’s real response to this will be…They can’t possibly be just shrugging it off.
Better be making the PSP2 like the PSP go but with all the iPhone features. I could only hope.
