I just went to the target near me (in memphis,tn) and got Luigi’s Mansion from that flyer. Just change the (flyers.ca) to (flyers.com) if you’re showing them from your phone and make up some bullshit story like I did. (“My brother sent me this link, said I could get it for this price. He already got one & this target was the closest to my job so I figured I’d see if you guys had it. Said I’d go ahead & buy it but didn’t want to spend a lot of money.”)
Just have a confused look on your face, be extremely polite and you should be fine.
Oh shit, how crowded was the store when you did it? I want to go tonight but it may be easier to pull off when they are more crowded since they wont want to dig too much deeper into it.
The one by me is always busy & I got the guy when he was already dealing with other customers. I could’ve gotten both but they were sold out of mario & luigi.
Wait I need a dsi just to update my 3ds R4? The website where it’s sold says it should work with the current 3DS firmware 7.1.14 and it has a link to the R4 update but you can’t click on it lol.
Yeah it works with 7.1.14 but it has to be on the latest kernel. You can only access the kernel updater in the flash card menu. Nintendo’s 6.1.2 update killed the earlier versions of that cards firmware. You can still get to the menu if you have a dsi or if your firmware is on an early enough version (6.1.0 I believe was the last one to support that card without that kernel update)
I’ll explain it like this
The kernel I’m talking about is basically firmware.
In order for the R4 menu to work The R4 Firmware has to interface with the DS’s Firmware
The only way to update the R4’s firmware is inside of the R4 menu
The newest update DOES work so you can access the r4 menu on 7.1.14
However you need to access your current NON-updated r4 menu in order to update its firmware
the 2 ways to do this are
on a 3DS that has old enough firmware to still interface with the old r4 menu
or
on a DSi since its firmware is done being updated and will always work with that card
no waiting just a bunch of headache
Easiest way to do it Zoo is to go to Gamestop, buy a cheap DSI, update it then return it within 7 days. Return policy is good on handhelds. Just tell them you decided to wait for a cheap 3DS when you return it.
but yeah if you got 80 bucks to loan out thats an option i might actually do that instead it crossed my mind but i wasnt sure if the return policy applied to consoles
