So tried Project X Zone demo and the combat wasn’t as hype as I expected after hearing the Tales of comparisons, reminded me more of Eternal Sonata and Cross Edge with the whole taking turns to whail on you defenseless opponent in realtime, fun but not quite up there with the Tales seres combat.
That said it’s still fun and I’ll probably pre-order it after next payday.
watching and playing project X reminds me of super robot wars and stuff. Man I’ve been hype all the way through with Ryu and Ken. I kinda wish I could make it Akira and Ryu. but I guess that’s not how the game works. or at least the demo. Few other solid teams there. Ulala assist is godlike
for some strange reason I can’t seem to guard attacks…only use the defend option, for those who played Namco X knows exactly what im talking about…you gotta take the ass whoopin’ now.
YO If team shoto had a null block skill I’d vote them for nicest of the demo. I have to check on that damage output but the wall combo’s Dizzy stuns, and metsu’s locking people in place is killer, Especially Paired up with Gemini. Even as the support role in that I find them just flowing into some sick stuff.
I’mma go back and look at the numbers and try to look at this with out my hypebeast shades.
after playing it a couple more times i got the hang of it a little bit. its pretty cool how standing adjacent to someone lets them attack twice.
also finally figured that you could use skills like healing hahaha.
its pretty fun but holy high lifeforce and damage combos batman. shit is crazy
Yeah, the placement of your forces plus the team up attacks seems to determine a lot in Project X Zone besides the normal movement restrictions other strategy RPGs use at the core. Still I hope there is a tutorial mode, it takes a minute to figure out which attacks do what in order to maximize the damage.
